MUSE Overview

In this case,is an acronym for Medicated Urethral System for Erections.

MUSE is the brand name of the generic medication alprostadil.

Effectively, it’s a pellet that you use an applicator to insert into your urethra to produce an erection.

We realize this method isn’t for everyone, but some men with erectile dysfunction problems have found success with MUSE, so we thought it was worth bringing up.

MUSE ReviewHow MUSE Works

The MUSEsystem consists of a medicine pellet and and applicator.

The medicine is called Alprostadil, and the applicator is used to insert the pellet inside the opening of the urethra. The pellet is housed in a tube.

Once the tube is inserted, you press the button to release the pellet.

The medicine in MUSE is absorbed through the membrane that lines the urethra, and an erection occurs in about 10 minutes.

The erections lasts about 30 minutes and could last up to an hour.

MUSE relaxes the smooth muscle walls of the blood vessels in the penis, allowing for blood to flow in.

Is MUSE Effective

MUSE has a success rate of about 60%, so it does work for many men that otherwise wouldn’t be able to get an erection.

The success rate increases with higher doses of medicine and decreases with lower doses.

MUSE Side Effects

Though they are minor, MUSE does cause some side effects that include:

  • Penis or urethral pain.
  • Scraping of the urethra.
  • Prolonged erections.

Things to Consider When Using MUSE

The medicine in MUSE may cause irritation to your partner upon ejaculation.

It also should not be ingested,so you should avoid oral sex while using it.

And if your partner is pregnant, you’ll need to use a condom in conjunction with MUSE.

MUSE Pros and Cons

Advantages of MUSE

  • It has a pretty good success rate.

Disadvantages of MUSE

  • It requires a prescription.
  • It may be difficult or uncomfortable to use.
  • It may cause mild side effects for both you and your partner.
  • It does nothing for libido or endurance, just erections.

Where to Buy

In order to buy and use MUSE, you’ll need a prescription from your doctor.

It is likely that he will also teach you how to insert it while in the office.

Conclusion

MUSE may work, but it also may be a little too weird for some guys to want to use.

For that reason, and the fact that it requires a prescription, MUSE is best suited for guys with real erectile dysfunction issues, not for guys just looking to make good things better.
