Vitapril starts off as a pretty standard multivitamin with significant quantities of the Vitamins and Minerals you would expect, like Vitamins, A, C, D, E, B Complex, Iron, Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, and Potassium.

But then it’s got a couple extras.

It starts with the Antioxidant Proprietary Blend of Green Tea, DMAE, Alpha Lipoic Acid, and Idebenone and then adds the infamous 10 SuperFoods Proprietary Blend which includes:

  • Acai which is rich in phyto nutrients to fight against fee radicals, improving organ function throughout the body.
  • Alfalfa which is a rich source of trace minerals as well as vitamins and other essential nutrients.
  • Barley which combats diabetes, high cholesterol, and obesity.

It can also slow the absorption of carbohydrates.
  • Buckwheat which is high in both fiber and protein and fights cholesterol and high blood pressure.
  • Cayenne Pepper which improves cardiovascular health which helps all the cells of the body get what they need.
  • Flaxseed which is a great source of Omega-3 fatty acids, needed for heart health as well as fiber for a healthy digestive system.
  • Garlic which is an antiseptic/antifungal that also improves cardiovascular health and lowers cholesterol.

Rob Miller: The gas could be coming from any one of the ingredients in Vitapril Multi, but it's most likely the magnesium. I would check with your doctor to be sure.

    1. Hey Nancy,

No, only a few companies have chosen to participate in the USP program, and Vitapril is not one of them. It doesn’t mean they failed the test.

It means that they, like most supplements, decided not to participate.

  1. I’d never heard of Vitapril before, but yesterday I ordered a bottle online. I was appalled that some of the supplements I’d been using for years contained the controversial magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, and/or propylene glycol. 🙁 Why hadn’t I bothered to check these ingredients out before this!

Anyway, yesterday I dared to junk them all, and am now putting my trust in this new kid on the block. (I hope the DMAE will not cause any problems, though.)
  2. Hi Rob,

I read in lots of places that men and women have different vitamin needs, hence so many “for men” and “for women” products…

Is Vitapril effective and safe for women as well as men, or is there something better? Also, is the soy content going to mess up female hormones any?

    Cheers

    1. Hey Jennifer,

I agree about different needs for men and women, but Vitapril is a unisex vitamin supplement. And I wouldn’t worry about the soy content.

It’s pretty low, much lower than the amount that would be problematic.
