I have been researching various types of all natural alternatives to help treat my ADD/ADHD for the past 6 months, and have found some surprising alternatives that work very well. One of those alternatives is a supplement called Doxiderol, which is a so called “smart drug” that helps to improve brain function, focus, and enhance memory and cognitive function. But is it really as effective as prescription medications like Adderall, Vyvanse, and Ritalin?

Is it really “legal adderall“?

I experimented with Doxiderol for the past few months, and wanted to talk a little bit about my results in this review.

My Quick ADD/ADHD Story

doxiderol reviewLike pretty much anyone else who is reading this, we all know that everyone has a certain amount of ADD in them. It’s called “being human”, but of course doctors are quick to diagnose you with ADD and throw amphetamines at you at the drop of a hat.

It all started about a year and a half ago when I decided to quit smoking. For those of you who have experienced nicotine withdrawal, you probably know that coming down off of 10 + years of nicotine dependence can take its toll.

Well, one of the most prevalent withdrawal symptoms that I experienced was a lack of focus, attention, energy, and motivation. It lasted alot longer than I expected, so I decided to seek help from a doctor. I went to my primary physician for help, and he more or less told me that these symptoms would subside over time, and said to pretty much just wait it out. Well, after 3 weeks of “waiting it out”, I still felt like a bag of crap, which was affecting both my work and personal life.

One day I called a friend up to go to a local shooting range, and before I picked him up at his house I sent him a text to let him know I was stopping at my local Dunkin Donuts and to see if he wanted anything. He replied he was ok, and I proceeded to get myself a large coffee with extra cream and sugar, and a double shot of espresso. After picking him up, I was stunned at how chipper he was at 2:30 in the afternoon, and asked him how he could have no energy without slamming 3 cups of coffee and 2 red bulls a day (like I was doing).

He said he was taking Adderall….You can only imagine where this is going. I started to prod him with questions about this drug, and he told me that he was diagnosed with adult ADD, and he had been on the drug for about a year. Fascinated, I wondered what this drug would be like, so I asked him if he could spare a pill. He gave me a 30 mg instant release tablet, but said to cut it in half and only take one half very early in the morning.

The next morning I took a half, and literally started feeling it in minutes. I COULD NOT believe how much work I got done that day. It was shocking and scary at the same time. Have I really just found the answer to my prayers? It seemed too good to be true. I asked my friend how he went about getting Adderall, and he referred a local psychiatrist who he visited. I called this doctor to schedule an appointment, and after some knee-slappingly obvious questions, I was diagnosed with Adult ADD and walked out with a script for 20 mg of Adderall XR.

Adderall Dependence and Time For A Change

The next few weeks felt too good to be true. I was getting an insane amount of work done, and my sales and productivity were through the roof. Not only that, but I also noticed that I started to lose weight, and was feeling better than ever. It truly felt like a wonder drug, but as the months wore on, I noticed that the drug was starting to lose it’s effectiveness. Not only that, but I began to experience some pretty bad side effects, most notably rampant eye twitches, insomnia, stomach and intestinal pains, and even my mood started to change for the worse. I felt like I was becoming dependent on the drug, and was starting to get nervous. Have I become a drug addict?

My Quest For a Natural Adderall Alternative

The fact that I run a supplement site such as this led me to start looking for some all natural alternatives to Adderall and other prescription ADD medications. I was getting sick of taking Adderall, but wanted something that could give me the same boost in energy, focus, and concentration, without being addicted to an amphetamine.

I came across Doxiderol after a quick search on Google, and learned that others were getting great results with it as well. I decided to order a one months supply, which is surprisingly cheap when you consider I was paying as much as $300 for a 30 pill prescription of Adderall XR (thanks to no insurance). I received it in the mail about 2 or 3 days later, and began taking it right away.

How Does Doxiderol Work?

Doxiderol is what’s known as a Nootropic, which is a fancy technical term that means it helps to boost human cognitive abilities. Unlike Adderall, Vyvanse, and other prescription ADD medications, Nootropics help to regulate and increase the supply of neurochemicals to the brain naturally.

Doxiderol uses a unique blend of ingredients, including Vitamin B12 and B5, Acetyl L-Carnitine, Caffeine, Bacopa Monnien Extract, Citicoline, L-Theanine, and Vinpocetine. Without going into a boring and lengthy discussion about how these ingredients work, check out the official Doxiderol ingredients page, they do a great job of explaining everything.

My Results With Doxiderol

The directions state that a serving is 2 pills, but just like my original experiment with adderall, I started off taking just 1 pill of Doxiderol. While it didn’t hit me nearly as fast, I felt a gradual sense of eupohoria, and I had laser-like focus within an hour or so. Just like the first time on Adderall, I was getting things done quickly, efficiently, and with a sense of urgency.

I decided to take a second pill about mid-way through the afternoon (around 2:30 or so) and again, the effects were prevalent for hours. I was so surprised to see how well an all natural ADD supplement was working, as I didn’t think anything could come close to the effects of Adderall. I continued to take Doxiderol over the next few weeks, but did take some days off.

What is the true benefit of Doxiderol is that it is not addictive, something which can’t be said of prescription medications. At no time in the 3 months that I had been taking it did I ever feel like I couldn’t live without it. If I stopped taking it, I felt less inclined to get stuff done, but NEVER felt depressed, agitated, or like I was “coming down” off of a drug.
