We get a lot of requests to look into body building supplements. Some turn out to be the next greatest find. Some turn out to be… well… not. I was recently asked about Muscle Rev X (also known as Muscle Rev Xtreme), so I dutifully began my quest to find out if this muscle builder has what it takes to help our readers achieve the results they want.

The first thing I wanted to know is what Muscle Rev X promises to do. That information is not at all hard to find. When you take Muscle Rev X, especially when combined with Alpha Fuel XT, you can expect that it will:

  • Burn all your unwanted fat fast.
  • Give you energy to work out longer and harder.
  • Supply oxygen and nutrients to your muscles so they grow bigger fast.
  • Make you stronger than you’ve ever been.

This all sounds fantastic, right? So let’s move on to finding out what goes into this amazing stuff.

Muscle Rev X ReviewMuscle Rev X Ingredients and How They Work

This information was a little less readily available. The websites I found talk a lot about Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine, but they are mostly pretty vague. I didn’t get a full ingredient list, but I was able to track down some of the components. As far as I can tell, the Muscle Rev X formula includes:

  • L-Citrulline which is an amino acid that converts to L-Arginine, which then converts to nitric oxide. Nitric oxide increases blood flow to your muscles during workouts, so they get the nutrients and oxygen they need.
  • L-Norvaline which prevents L-Arginine from being broken down by a particular enzyme, leaving it free to convert to nitric oxide.
  • Coenzyme Q-10 which can increase muscle energy.

The website also talk about a full compliment of vitamins and nutrients, but none specify just what these might be.

Fake Ads and Ronda Rousey

I had one of my visitors post the following after coming across an ad for Muscle Rev and Rev Test:

“I came across what I believed to be an article from ESPN.com.

The subject of the article was UFC Fighter Ronda Rousey accused of taking HGH.

The first thing that I immediately noticed was the writer kept referring to Rousey as “He, Him”, and as most of the sports world knows, Rousey is most definitely a woman.

As I read on it became perfectly clear that it was a fake story and nothing more than a Horribly done advertisement for a couple of supplements!

At this point I honestly feel almost numb and jaded to such tactics as they are all too commonplace and do very little to actually be convincing or even creative in what they are trying to sell you on, or scam you on, more like it.

The page looked official.

It looked exactly like an ESPN.com Web page, with one exception.

All of the sports links at the top of the page took me to a website promoting the supplements! Don’t get fooled by this SCAM!

Here is a link to the “FAKE” ESPN article!

Just remember, all of the claims the article made that I researched were 100% False!

Even the writer of the article, Ryan Hasman, doesn’t work for or contribute in any way to ESPN!

Always use a discerning eye when you come across a “celebrity endorsement” or quote related to a product that it does not seem like they would really be throwing their name behind and staking their reputation on.

It’s pretty clear if you look at the page he’s referring to, that its a complete scam. I’ve seen this scam MANY times in the past.

Ingredient Effectiveness

L-Citrulline

What I found the most interesting when researching this ingredient is that most of the common uses were for anything but increasing athletic performance.

A large majority of the reviews online were from people that had health issues ranging from poor circulation to erectile dysfunction and trying to lose weight.

While some of the information claimed positive results I saw very few that related directly to increasing muscle and athletic performance.

You can see some of the reviews on Webmd.com. Based on the information I read and the reviews presented on sites that were not trying to sell a product, I would question how effective this ingredient really is.

On a final note, if you would to review a study about the effectiveness of L-Citrulline you can see it at ncbi.nlm.nih.gov although if you are not a doctor it will be difficult to comprehend.

L-Norvaline

It was difficult to find any solid information on this particular ingredient in Muscle Rev X from established medical sites.

Webmd.com had zero search results as did many other established authority medical sites.

However, based on information from several supplement websites and Wikipedia.com it would appear that L-Norvaline has been linked to tissue regeneration as well as assisting with muscle growth.

As far as I could tell there have been no official human medical studies since 2009 so it is hard to say for certain what the benefits are and if there are significant side effects.

Coenzyme Q-10

Coenzyme Q-10 had significantly more information than Norvaline or Citrulline but again I was not able to find medically proven evidence of results.

There were various reports of positive experiences but I also noticed a few reports that concerned me. Webmd.com reports there has been research which establishes insomnia and elevated liver enzymes are linked to cases where Coenzyme Q-10 was taken in doses larger than 100mg and 300mg a day respectively.

Precautions

It is difficult to find solid medical information about the positive results of the ingredients mentioned above.

This also means there is limited information about what the potential side effects might be.

If you take the time to visit some of the links provided then you will see there have been some side effects reported by users of these ingredients, and in particular Muscle Rev X.

Some of the side effects may be mild but keep in mind mild side effects for one person and can be severe and life threatening for another.

You should always discuss your situation with your doctor before taking any vitamin or supplement.

Where to Buy

Purchasing Muscle Rev X can only be done by signing up for a “free” 14 day trial. If you’ve read some of our other reviews, you know the drill. You order a month’s supply and pay only the shipping costs up front. If you like it, do nothing and they’ll charge you (usually around $80) for the trial bottle, and sign you up to receive and pay for a new bottle each month from now until eternity (or until you cancel – whichever comes first). But this arrangement is hidden in the fine print, and lots of guys are taken by surprise when they start seeing strange charges on their credit card bill.

But here’s the thing. I don’t think you can even sign up for the Muscle Rev X trial anymore.A whole bunch of websites promote Muscle Rev X, but when you try to link to the site to actually order, you get rerouted to a different product.

I checked with my local retailers like GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, and Walmart, and none of them have ever heard of this pre workout supplement.

Muscle Rev X Pros and Cons

Advantages of Muscle Rev X

  • Absolutely nothing.

Disadvantages of Muscle Rev X

  • They don’t reveal the formula.
  • There is no way to contact the company.
  • Muscle Rev X was only available by signing up for a long term contract.
  • It appears to be off the market at this time.

Conclusion

Muscle Rev Xis off the market, but its advertising leads you to the chance to purchase a different product. If this doesn’t prove that these products only offered through these free trial schemes are shady, interchangeable, and not worth your time, I don’t know what will.

By wayne,  Feb 8, 2015

I DECIDED TO TRY THIS OUT. DONT BE FOOLED.
I called the contact number and each time a pathetic recording stated "Im sorry, i cant hear you from this end.  Please call back later" I have also E-Mailed several times with no response. The latest claims that the mail no longer exists.
I was in a difficult position and needed a boost, however the hassle this has caused has done nothing and the product does not work.  I am still trying to cancel.

You can call them and tell them you want to cancel your subscription. Or you can call your credit card company and tell them you don't want to accept any charges from this company. They may even offer to call the company with you to take care of the cancellation.- Rob

    1. Hey david,
I'm a bit tied up with reviews at the moment, so not sure if I'll have a chance to review that one.Check back with me at a later date and I'll let you know if I have time.

  1. RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!
Same as reviews below…the charges for this stuff are ridiculous.

Get charged almost daily and have seen nothing in the mail. DON’T BUY!!

    1. Hey Ryan,

Since it’s a natural supplement and not a steroid or hormone replacement, you don’t technically need to cycle off at all. With that said, I usually take a week or 2 off every month or two for most of the supplements I use, to start with a clean slate.

      1. Thanks yeah I’ve noticed I don’t feel nothing anymore. I think my body’s getting used to it.

They sale the red pack at vitamin world now but not the test. I found it on both on Amazon for $55

  2. If you go one day over the 14 day trial period you will be charged for the free tril bottle. It wont do you any good to call customer service they wont help in anyway.

They will charg you almost 90.00 I would stay away from this. I had to give it a one there was no 0 choice.

    1. Hey Phil,

I haven’t checked it out closely, and I don’t see it available anywhere but eBay. I would be skeptical to say the least.

    1. Hey Ben,

None are particularly unsafe for one with mobility issues, but they won’t be effective unless you can incorporate a workout routine.

  3. Scam artists. Free trial gets you a phone call from marketing teenager who doesn’t care what you say.You are getting charged for some colorful pills that do crap!

Cancelling additional products means nothing. You will be charged $89 for 2 products on credit card.

Small print artists. Do not buy!

  4. Do not buy this product online. My $5.95 has cost me $256.00 so far, the money was taken out three weeks after I clicked confirm for $5LEANdot95. If I get a refund, I will post it here. If not….

    I post that too.
  5. Do not ever go buy their product. They will trick you, make you enroll in the trial, and charge you cancellation fee. all of them would sum up to approximately $50.

  6. In Nov 2015 I got the free trial by going through the official website. 1 week later my credit card was used for all kinds of purchases. When i called to cancel my membership I could talk to a supervisor and my credit card was canceled.

This is a shady operation and the product hasn’t done anything to enhance my workout. Might as well take a multivitamin. It’s cheaper and gives the same results.

  7. This is a big scam by them selling this product which they claim is a free trial, it definitely is not. They billed me $89.74 and would not refund this based on them stating that I agreed to the terms.

Please read below the “Free Trial” it does not even work. I tried to get a refund but they would not give me one.

At to top it off the customer service number was breaking in and out. Never again!

  8. I didn’t even order this crap and they charged me through one of their Amazon Prime “Marketing Partners”. Won’t credit.

Still arguing with bank to get my money back. THEIVES.

    RUN AWAY FAST.
    1. Hey Noel,

Unfortunately, it’s only available to be shipped to the United States. I wouldn’t recommend it anyway. If you’re looking for something that works and ships to Nigeria, check out the Crazy Mass Cutting Stack.

  9. I just purchased the Rev test and muscle rev extreme. I looked at the ingredients on the package and not one ingredient listed on here is listed on the package.

Now I’m at a loss from everyone saying it was terrible but as I stated earlier the ingredients you speak of are not listed on the package. Does anyone know if they changed their formula?

    1. Hey Jay,

In the review, we state that because the ingredient information isn’t disclosed online, we are not certain of what’s in it. We went by word of mouth and educated guessing.

Give it a try, but make sure you’re aware of the terms of the free trial offer. If you don’t call and cancel within 14 days from your order date, you’ll be charged like $80 for each supplement and it’ll happen every month until you cancel.

    1. Hey Hunter,

I can’t know for sure. I’d call when you get the bottle and make sure that you’re really canceled.

  11. I’m coming over to you guys…i want my money back asap, that you took from my account…unless returned…see how you like it when i fuck you guys up…….scam scam…only takes 1 person to get to you….i will i will..hunting you down
    1. Hey Rob,

Sounds like you got scammed with a free trial offer that turned into a monthly charge. We don’t have any connection to Muscle Rev X.

In fact if you read our review, you’ll see we recommend you DON”T buy it. You’ll have to contact them directly to resolve the issue. 323-331-9054 is the number I found for them.

If it doesn’t work, check your credit card statement. It should have the number listed next to the charge.

If not, call your credit card company. They have the number.

        1. Hey Paul,

  12. I bought the revtest & musclerev for $4.98 each that paid shipping.. I used my Pay-Pal debit card and I canceled the card after it was charged $4.98 each.. After I received them in the mail I called and canceled my order and the recording said I will be charged $34.98 each.. so now they will not be able to get any of this extra charge $ and I am selling the two bottles on Ebay for $50.00 ..
  13. I use my Pay-Pal debit card for things like this and I planned on cancelling my card after I ordered it so they will not get any more money.. I would not have bought it if I had looked at this site first so thank you all..

They called me yesterday and said it will be shipped and wanted the 3 numbers on back of my card.. .. To bad this Rev x don’t work.

    I am only out $4.98
  14. Guys, you do not need to cancel your credit card. First of all, anyone who accepts credit cards is required to list their phone number on your credit card statement.

Secondly, you should call your bank or credit card company immediately and state that you are not happy with the product and are trying to contact the company to dispute the charge. Ask the bank not to honor the charge (in other words, ask them not to pay the vendor).

This is usually the best process. Hope that helps those of you that unfortunately ordered this products.

    Good luck.
  15. Do not give them your credit card number…this is a 100% scam. They will start charging you $90/month without your authorization.

    Stay away!!!
  16. I bought this product a couple days and decided to google it and came across this site. Now that I know that its a scam I rushed and called and canceled my account and was hit with a $38 charge for the free trial.

Anyone who haven’t canceled their account you need to change your credit/debit card info to beat this scam. Have your bank to issue a new card.

    Good Luck!
    1. I have just signed in for the free trial & now I read that it’s a scam, I have emailed them to say I dont want to be involved after reading the fine print but there is no number to call. Should I just cancel my credit card??

      1. Hey Brent,

That would work, but I found their phone number for you. It’s 1-855-462-1974. I would give them a call as well.

I have just contacted my credit card/ bank who said they will dispute the charges on my behalf… Looks like I’m going to have to cancel my bank card and get a new account… I took free trail which cost me shipping fee… The I have been charged 140 pound already… If I just stop bank payment without contacting them will they chase me for the money?
    1. Hey Paul,

I can’t be sure what they’ll do. To be absolutely positive that you’re canceled, I would call the company as well as what you’re doing with the bank.

  20. Guys, this is useless product and they fool people and deduct the money from credit card before u even get the product to try.
    1. Hey Martin,

If you can’t call the US number (1-855-768-7858), you can use their email address. It’s support@getmusclerev.com. I can’t find a specific UK contact number for them. My guess is they don’t have one. If you can’t get a reply, call your credit card company and ask them not to accept further charges.

  21. Yes i order the free trail and just got a statement from the bank and charge me 190.00 for the free trail .These people are scammers .So if i where i wouldn’t order this crap.
  22. Ordered the RevTest and MuscleRevX. They Men’s health magazine was advertising it on FB, so I though it was a legit company and product!

Big mistake!!!…. The ad stated 14 day trial for free!

The only problem is, the trial starts the day you order the product and by the time you receive your order, your trial run is over! Then you get charged a ridiculous 90$ per bottle for a product that doesn’t do shi*…..

    Don’t be fooled!
  23. This Musclerev people or whatever they are ..are a bunch of scammers. They have stolen over 200$ from my son’s account. My son is only 16 and they lied he was getting free trials and they have been taking money from his account. This is total scam…dishonest company right there.Who takes money from minors without the consent of the parent.Their product have messed up my son’s body he feels sick to the stomach… he is even limping. His both knees hurt..his body feels weak…these are crooks and I will sue them.My son is a runner and now he is all sick as a result of their so called products.I will have them in court.I will put their ass in jail.
    1. if you all want to lose money just put it in my pay pal account rather than the companys ill spend it better then them for you’s haha
  24. I noticed that Rod talks about how great it works. How do you know it’s the Rev X and not the hard work in general from the workouts itself?

I also purchased rev X and was screwed oved! I workout using P90x3 and noticed no difference using/not using Rev X.

Actually i retract that statement. My results were better without it.

I did the exact same workout and ate the same things for 2 weeks with Rev X and 2 weeks without. The 2 weeks with i lost 2.7lbs and the 2 weeks without i lost 6.2lbs. My results are from the hard work, not Scam X!!!
  25. Wish I would have seen this before I signed up. Same problem cancelled a few days before my trial as results weren’t noticable..

But then found out that trial starts before they even ship the product. so they charged me the $85. Guess they don’t know what “trial” means. Was on phone with CC company and their customer service as they just automate their cancellation process now. and they only gave me a 50% refund so still cost me more than worth.

    Ho-hum product, horrible company.
  26. I just purchased the 14 day trail bottle online. However I only want to try it and not submit to a monthly thing.

I’m currently a bench only competitor and just looking to see if it only works. How do I go about canceling if I don’t like it without it charging on it’s own?

    1. Hey Jason,

Make sure you call the customer service number and cancel your autoshipment membership before the 14 days are up. That’s 14 days from the day you placed the order, not when you received the product. They phone number I found on their website is 1-855-462-1974. Their email address is support@musclerevxtreme.com.

  27. This is a bunch of crap. I recently ordered Muscle Rev Xtreme directly from them and it only took two days to come and I am completely satisfied with my results.

Nothing works for everybody 100% of the time so find what works for you. Plus you DO have to workout.

You can’t do half ass workouts and expect results.
    1. Hey Lee,
Looks like you signed up for a free trial of Muscle Rev X, which of course we don’t sell and don’t recommend. You’ll have to call the company directly.

  28. You wanna get back at them order the free trial then cancel your card u keep the thirty day supply n you don’t lose any money
  29. Yes I was taken by this so called muscle rev and muscle test. Took 5 days to get it.

I didn’t see anything about paying for it until I seen the 80.00 charge each bottle on my card. They argued with me on the phone.

I got a whopping 12.71 refund. Never tried the product.

Got pissed and trashed it . Learned a valuable lesson here.

Never buy these types of products online.
    1. Hey Matt,
This is a review site. We don’t sell products here, and we don’t recommend signing up for free trial offers.

It looks like you’re trying to reach Muscle Rev X to cancel your order with them. Their customer service number is 1-855-462-1974. Best of luck to you.

  30. i recently tried the 14 day free trial for muscle rev and and rev test and got fucked over. The product took 5 days to get to me and after only having about a week to try the product i felt no results.

When i tried to cancel my subscription after missing the 14 day period and get my money back they told me that the charge was for the first bottle, which was supposed to be free. Now im out almost $150 and they said im not getting any more of the product.

This is a complete scam dont waist your time and money. If someone had the same problem and got their money back could you let me know what you had to do

  31. Dont even spend your money its not a free trial they charge You for it and of You dont cancel they keep On taking your money sending You there product… Worst service ever
  32. I just paid $9.71 to cancel my credit card. The free trial is BS, instead of a two week supply they send you a month supply.

After the two weeks is up they will charge you $80 for the month supply they sent you. This company is a scam, do not order nothing from revolution labs.

  33. My husband had me call and cancel for him, and they wanted to charge me either $19.97 to return the product he didn’t use, or $29.95 to cancel, and i was extremely rude to the customer service woman and was able to get her “cancellation fee” down to $9.71.
    1. I signed up for the free trial that they are sending me. Even if I cancel the free trial I get money taken out?

Im nervous now that I signed up and saw all this bad stuff. Can someone help me?

      1. Hey John,
Call the company as soon as you get the product. Tell them you want to cancel and you don’t want any further charges.

It may be as simple as that. Sometimes it is.

Sometimes it’s not. But start there and hope for the best.

If they don’t cooperate with you, you may have to go through your credit card company.
