For the last few weeks I’ve been having a ton of people visiting my review of CogniQ, which is an all natural “smart drug”. However, they are not visiting it to learn about Cogniq, but rather a supplement called Intelligex.

Intrigued, I started searching around for information on it, but literally came up short. I tried typing in the name of the product, tried searching through all the major search engines, and for the life of me couldn’t find anything on it.

I was in minor disbelief when I could not find anything and was effectively beginning to wonder if I had been misled or even if maybe I just simply was dealing with incomplete information, but I still wanted to continue the search.

Finally, I resorted to making a post about Intelligex on my Cogniq review, asking anyone who has any information on it to pass along a website or something. Within 12 hours, I had 2 people get back to me with an official site.

It seems to me that Intelligex is using deliberate and FALSE marketing to lure unsuspecting customers to sign up for their free trial. Let’s dive right in to the details so I can show you what I’m talking about.

“Is This Smart Drug The Most Powerful Brain Enhancer In The World?”

This is the headline I see staring me in the face right now. Right under that there is mention of a ground breaking pill that was recently discovered to boost brain power by up to 89.2%, as well as sharpen your mind and sky-rocket your energy levels.

Then, there’s a flattering picture of what appears to be a human brain cut in half.

intelligex pill

Apparently this new pill is mind boosting equivalent of what Viagra does for your sex life. And it’s actually not just one pill, it’s a combo of pills.

Those pills are none other than Intelligex and Amped.

intelligex and amped

This apparent “news report” goes on to say that by combining both Intelligex and Amped, users experienced laser like focus, a huge improvement in memory, and a clear mind.

Pretty intriguing, no doubt, especially if it true, and it definitely got me even more interested in trying it out for myself.

They also mention that a study of 300 people was conducted at the Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU) and that the results were astounding.

They cite one of the participants journal entries, and if you read through them it can sound very convincing. Here’s a summary of his results:

intelligex reviews

It was even cited as being the inspiration behind the movie “Limitless”, starring Bradley Cooper.

By the way all of this is seen on a website that is supposedly called “ProNews”, and they had their Health and Science editor Alan Frasier test out Intelligex himself to see what all the fuss was about.

Apprently he took it for 4 weeks and his results were nothing short of amazing. A summary of his experience below:

Lastly, there are dozens of seemingly “real” comments on the bottom, all saying how psyched they are to try it out.

The Problem With All of This? It’s ALL FAKE!!!

What you’re seeing here is a cleverly crafted marketing piece, commonly referred to in the industry as a “Farticle” (Fake Article). The apparent news site “ProNews” is not really a news site.

Don’t believe me?

Try and visit the URL and see what comes up.

That’s right, absolutely nothing. It’s literally a blank page…

Then, something else you probably completely missed was the fact that it even says it’s an Advertisement right at the top (and bottom) of the page.

intelligex ad

intelligex sponsored

As if this wasn’t enough to convince you that it’s complete BS, check out the real Limitless Post that was made back in March of 2011.

intelligex limitless

They pretty clearly photo-shopped in the part about Intelligex being the “inspiration” behind the movie.

Lastly, try to leave a comment on this page…I’ve made a quick screen cast to show you what happens.

[vimeo 150356808 w=640 h=360]

As you can see, no matter how many times you click the “Log In” button to leave a comment, it redirects to a completely different offer for a product called Synapsyl.

Seems odd to me…

Their “Free Trial” is NOT All It’s Cracked Up To Be

One sneaky trick that you probably also missed was their free trial. You see, when you visit the official website for Intelligex it appears as though you can try it out “risk free” by signing up to receive a trial bottle.

For most, this implies that your getting a sample, but nothing can be further from the truth.

Case in point, when you fill out their form to tell them where to ship the bottle, you are then redirected to a page that asks you to enter in a credit card to help pay for the modest shipping fee of $4.99.

What they also tell you in VERY fine print down at the bottom is that they will charge you $89.97 14 days after you order for this supposed free trial.

intelligex free trial

What’s worse is that if you don’t cancel in the allotted time frame they end up sending you a fresh bottle every month AND charge your credit card the $89.97 charge.

Despite all the B.S. marketing, does the product really even work? Let’s examine a few other things about Intelligex before we jump to any conclusions.

What is it?

intelligex reviewsThis supplement labels itself as a “smart drug”, while not actually being a drug. It’s an all natural supplement which is known as a nootropic, a new category of supplements aimed at helping you focus better, concentrate longer, and improve your short and long term memory.

There’s been DOZENS of these so called “brain pills” popping up on my radar the last 6 months or so, and the vast majority of them that I have tested have been a waste of time.

Supplements like Brain Plus IQ, Geniux, and Adderin ALL claim that they are the “real limitless pill”, but nearly ALL of them turned out to be complete duds.

So what makes Intelligex different? Well, therein lies the problem. We simply don’t know what’s in it.

They mention that their supplement contains a 100% pure phosphatidylserine complex, but that’s literally it.

Who makes it?

From what I can tell, Focus Nutra is the company behind Intelligex. They appear to be located in London, England, and finding any other info on them was practically impossible.

Here’s their contact info if you’re looking to get in touch with them:

Phone: 1-(888)-255-1750, or
Email: support@FocusNutra.com

What do the reviews have to say?

Apart from their official website, there aren’t many sites that have good, unbiased reviews of Intelligex. I searched around on Youtube and came across this video:

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9eORL1OEYI]

It takes a bit of time before he jumps to his “results” (specifically around the 7 Min. mark if you want to jump to it), but as you will see it turned out to be a pretty big disappointment.

He basically says he didn’t get much out of it, if at all, and that he figures maybe it will take a couple of days to kick in.

In a follow up video, he says that he actually got sort of sick the next day, although he couldn’t attribute it to the Intelligex Pills:

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7kTLMwU2P0]

In a final video chronicling his experience, he again go’s on to say that he was feeling nausea again and decided to just stop taking the pills altogether.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFadWj2wO2A]

It’s pretty clear from the videos that he seems to be going through some pretty rough times, and to be honest I feel pretty bad for him.

Unfortunately (and I’m not the least bit surprised), Intelligex couldn’t seem to help him at all.

Is it FDA Approved?

Despite some of their marketing stating otherwise, Intelligex is NOT FDA approved. In fact, because it’s a supplement it doesn’t require testing / approval from the FDA.

Is it Really The “REAL Limitless Pill”?

In my opinion, absolutely not. In fact, most of the so called “limitless pills” I’ve tested have proven to be nothing more than a sugar pill.

3 Big Reasons You Shouldn’t Buy It

  1. They use deceptive / false advertising to market their product.
  2. The reviews are VERY poor.
  3. Their “free trial” is NOT really “free”.

Conclusion

I’ve seen these fake ads time and time again. Typically you’ll see pills like Intelligex pop up on social media sites for a few months, maybe more.

Once they’ve scammed enough people with their free trial they close up shop, come up with a completely new product with a different name and label, and repeat the process again.

Don’t be a fool….if Intelligex was really the real limitless pill, they wouldn’t need to resort to false marketing to promote their product.

Check out some REAL products that I’ve personally tested and PROVEN to work effectively.

You'll have to give them a call within the trial period and tell them you don't want to receive any more charges or any more bottles. Their phone number should be on your bank or credit card statement.- Rob

  1. Also got caught in their deceptive business practices.

Was able to get almost a 50% refund when I called to cancel the “Free Trial” for which I was charged $135.78 Canadian for one INTELLIGEX and $135.66 for one AMPED in addition to the shipping and handling charge for the so-called “Free Trial."

Yes. The 14 day trial begins from the day of the order – not when you receive the product.

If I had not checked my credit card statement online weeks before it was due to arrive I may have been sent more product and been forced to pay.

This is deceptive predatory marketing that is legal.

It would be good if companies could be held accountable and responsible for intentionally using “vulture” business practices to scam their prospects as evidenced by the reviews.
    1. I agree, but unfortunately, what they do is actually legal – sketchy and unprincipled – but legal.
  2. The scammers behind Intelligex are also behind many other scams. I’ve tracked them down to about two dozen various scams involving “free trials” or stuff that does not exist or never happened where they falsely use various celebrities in order to advertise their product.

It’s a huge organization that spends 10,000s on marketing, making way more by scamming people and the sad part, police is still not doing anything about it as they said in a phone call – it’s very hard to track them with the resources we have…

It’s a sugar pill, again, huge scam operation.
  3. I’ve just become a victim of this predatory “business” Focus Nutra, only I ordered a “free” sample of CA Garcinia a so called digestive aid/diet pill. I was redirected to this site after filling out a survey.

All it said was order your free sample and pay just $4.99 shipping. I did NOT see anything about agreeing to a 14 day trial after which I’d been charged $89- which came to $121 Cdn.

But they charged me twice within the month so now I’m out over $250.00. I have filed a report with London Police’s Anti-Fraud division.

They are interested in finding out about other victims of this unscrupulous company which is based in Manchester, England. I urge others to come forward, this needs to stop!

  4. This is a scammer company , I ordered I trial bottle of intelligex Canadian for a trial I received 1 of the intelligex and six Amped which I was charged for , the amped is all caffeine , that I can get with coffee along with good taste instead of a pill , when I phoned the company , all I got for customer service was a surly bastard who basically said so sad too bad but you have been rooked , no returns no refunds , this company is just a scam with gov protection of bribing the right buracrats
  5. Watch up! This is a crook company.

Unfortunately I got bitten by them, lost money for being misled. Now I have to worry that this crook company will not keep stealing from my credit card.

They should be fined or stopped, but they’re professional crooks. The simple honest person like doesn’t have time to sue them.

Don’t fall in the same mud hole where I fell…
  6. Subject: I got ripped off on a sneaky tricky purchase for AMPED energy product

    hello,

Im absolutely flabbergasted with what happened to me just a few days ago on this site, … as I was watching the You tube show’s … and clicked through to the info store, I followed a thread to purchase the Foucus Nutra AMPED energy pills, along with Intelligex Nutra. And so as I went to check out, the cost for shipping was a whopping 145.00 so, I cancelled my order and carried on with my day.

    … a few days later, I received a package….

Containing a trial order for both pills bottles, and a “discounted shipment of another 6 of these Amped energy bottles. I was surprised and shocked and angry, because I didn’t complete the order, nor did I make a double purchase of something I don’t know much about.

Not to mention, my account was charged a whopping 300 dollars for the now in hand 8 bottles of this stuff! WTF is going on?

I phoned their dispatch, and they claim the purchase was/is authentic, and the bottles are part of a “promotion”, and that I show a click through to purchase on their server, which seems odd to me because I did no such thing.

Anyhow, Im at my whits end here on what to do, as I don’t need or want such an order nor can I afford 300 for crazy brain pills without any trial. this just doesnt make much sense for a me nor a product that you are endorsing on this site, …. so what can be done about this? because … its unacceptable business practice whats happening here.

I now see on google that I’m not the only one that got scammed, and that theres many that got caught in some kind of fraud scam net purchase of this product.

Im tempted to report this as a web fraudulent scammer site because of such insane click through mobster type sneaks that think a new customer is gonna buy 8 bottles for personal use etc, on first visit of a site.

Im very not happy about this, and will take it up and be loud until I get some attention, and a refund.

happy to pay the shipping but really this is crazy shit.
  7. I ordered the free bottle of INTELLIGEX and got it, together with 6 bottles of AMPET that I did NOT order and was charged CAN$235 on my credit card. While I can’t say anything about the product, the seller’s business practises are nothing but a scam

  8. Thank you. In the middle of the night, I ran across the ad.

I believed the endorsements. My brain must have slipped a gear.

Stephen Hawkings and Anderson Cooper? In the light of day, I thought better and started researching.

I found you. Thanks especially for the phone number and name of who they are.

    I also called my bank.

They could have canceled my card and given me a new one. But it seems the bank called them.

The banks customer service woman told me they would let me return it. I was just out the $6 and return mail through UPS.

Your bank is dealing with this type of thing all the time.

So if you have a customer-service-type bank, you might also turn to them, even if you are embarrassed to name the product. (I was.)

    Thamks again.
  9. I ordered the free trial for $4.00 along with the amped for $4.00. But my bank stated that $89.00 was taken out also even thought i had not received the product to test.

If they are that quick to take my money that says aloy about that company. After i contacted them they refuse to return my money and said my 14 days was up.

    These people are all crooks.
  10. Forget how it works or not, they indicate a free trial that begins when ordered, not received! What a joke, you get charged for the entire purchase before you get the product to try!!?? run screaming

    1. Hey There,
We don’t actually sell Intelligex and Amped, you’ll have to contact them regarding your order. Here’s their contact info:

      Customer service phone number: 1-888-255-1750
      email: support@focusnutra.com

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.
  11. Do not order this trial ….they will bill you $120 for that sample 30 days later! They are rude on the phone and refuse to give the name of the president of this company!

My credit card company has received so many complaints in the last 6 months. If you ordered it put a block against this company billing you again.

  12. Thank you for the review. I wish I had done my research before I fell into a trap.

My order was shipped out on the 15 Jan and on the 27th the account was billed $89, when I called them they said I did not cancel before 14 days, but from the 14th to the 27th is only 12 days. I was wondering is there a way I can get back my money.

There way of selling is very deceptive and to make it worse their fine print is really fine I guess in order to trick people into falling to a trap
    1. Hey Sibo,

I completely agree with you about how they basically run a scam. Make sure you’ve canceled any future payments, but as far as getting the money back they already charged you, the only thing I can recommend is that you argue your point and tell them you plan to lodge a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

      They may respond to that.
      Rob
      SupplementCritique.com

      1. Sibo the trick they use is the 14 days starts from the moment you order the product not when it ships or when you receive it unfortunately, that’s part of the scam.
    2. Sibo,

I have been through this and here is what you do, are you ready?

Contact your credit card company and you only need to have: 1) the date you ordered your Intelligex, (its on your credit card history), 2) the date 12 days later when they billed you full price (again on your credit card history), 3) a screenshot of the so-called 14 day “free trial”, and your credit card company should reverse the charges because they did not give you 14 days from the time you ordered (that’s their scam its never a 14 day trial, but) in your case it looks like they got over zealous and hung themselves in the process by charging two full days earlier than they said they would, which is good for you!

Cheers and good luck with that I got scammed too!
      Mogs

  13. This product is a total scam designed to extract your hard earned money. I tried it and did not realize that you are in fact signing up for a monthly subscription of $132.00 CAD ,and when you try to cancel they charge you $80 .

Just trying to save some people from this unscrupulous money scam, Don`t buy into it, it truly is B.S.
      1. I was very doubful about this, while seeing this. However the worst thing was that one of the ad i saw, was refering to a serious reference, cbc news with a fake article.

Those are really well-made fake ads. My intuition still tell my there was so much pression on selling it the faster as possible.

In some part, i felt there was something sick about having a limitless pill, it seemed to me like the book Brave New World, and i imagines from it compagnies giving this artificial paradise, this Soma, giving super power to their employees. I was not planning to buy it, but Man, i am so happy to hear it’s a scam, thank, you’ve done a tremendous job.

I’ve dealt before with someone taking some natural enhancers for the brain, he was literally associal en narcissic, he was studying medecine, i hope he failed…
  14. hi. this message is about Intelligex. first of all, i have to thank you for making this review, especially the part about the fine print. i ordered the “free” trial today because the product sounded promising and thought i couldnt lose only paying the 5 bucks for shipping. i shouldve done my research first, but luckily i did it right after my order and came across this page and cancelled my order IMMEDIATELY via e-mail (you can find their e-mail address in the “contact us” area). They cancelled my order right away and also sent me a message giving me the option to buy their product at a huge discount.

I still didn’t order any, given the shadiness of the way they got me to order it. i simply can’t trust the product if i dont trust the company who makes it. anyway, i figured i’d let you know that if you wanted to let reviewers know about the loophole to getting a way better deal on it if they still want to order from them, then it’s up to you. I know some people would still want to try it even though you arent recommending it, so why make them pay full price? well i hope this helps. thanks for your time

    1. Thanks Ryan,

Yeah, most of these free trial scammers offer the deep discount when you try to cancel. I guess they figure something is better than nothing for their shitty products.

You’re right, people could go this route for a discount and all information is good information, but I would think most guys would rather find and pay for something that works. Thanks,

      Rob
