Xenadrine Review – Does It Work?

The number of weight loss supplements on the market can be literally dizzying. No wonder it’s so hard to pick on and go with it.

With thousands of choices, how are you supposed to know which is the best? Well, that’s why we’re here, doing our best to break it down and make it as simple as possible to choose.

Today we’re taking a look at Xenadrine Ultimate, which is one of the most popular weight loss pills found in Walmart and other stores.

The name “Xenadrine” has been around for years now, and they make a wide variety of competing weight loss pills including Xenadrine Core and Ultimate.

It was popular back in the Ephedra days. But of course, that’s been banned for a while now.

That brought about a lot of changes to the weight loss supplement industry of course and it caused many brands to shift gears and come up with new formulas.

So let’s find out what’s in it now and whether or not it works to help you take the weight off.

Xenadrine Ultimate Ingredients and How They Work

Ephedrine was effective, there’s no doubt about that.

It’s been around in one form or another for quite a long time. Back in the late 90’s and early 2,000’s, it was actually my go-to fat burner.  I went from a hefty 196 lbs. to an ABSOLUTELY shredded 168 lbs. in a matter of 3 months when it contained Ephedrine.

I literally went from this:

xenadrine ultimate before and after

To this:

/wp

In a matter of months.

But its safety was called into question when poison control center visits went up DRAMATICALLY in the early 2000’s, and 13 people actually DIED from products containing it.

This led the FDA to ban ephedrines use as a weight loss supplement in 2004, a result that was actually overturned by the weight loss industry in 2005, but later upheld by the US court of appeals in 2006.

So weight loss supplement companies had to scramble to come up with something else to do the trick.

In the case of Xenadrine Ultimate, they largely rely on Caffeine to speed the metabolism, provide energy, and suppress the appetite. It sounds pretty basic and old school, but when combined with a cast of supporting ingredients, it actually can be pretty effective.

The Xenadrine Ultimate weight loss formula is broken up into 2 parts:

Weight Loss and Metabolic Intensity Complex

  • Robusta Coffee Bean Extract:  This is basically a fancy name for Coffee Bean extract.  It’s primary benefit regarding weight loss is to inhibit fat accumulation and modulate glucose metabolism, however, scientific studies on these reported benefits are generally regarded as weak. (1)
  • Caffeine Anhydrous:  We all know what caffeine is and does.
  • Yohimbe Bark Extract:  A very powerful ingredient that is found in everything from fat burners to male sexual enhancement products, Yohimbe is a stimulant that acts as a powerful aphrodisiac. (2)

and the Xenadrine Ultimate Complex

  • Garcinia Fruit Extract:  Some studies have suggested that, because Garcinia contains the chemical Hydroxycitric Acid, that it may help to prevent fat storage, control appetite, and increase exercise endurance. (3)
  • L-Theanine:  An amino acid that neutralizes the effects of stimulants, and promotes feelings of calm.  It is especially useful when combined with Caffeine, and is said to promote enhanced cognitive effects. (4)
  • Spearmint Leaf Extract:  While not exclusively a weight loss ingredient, it’s said that Spearmint extract can help with digestion by relaxing stomach muscles. (5) This in turn reduces symptoms of nausea, which just so happens to be a very common side effect of Yohimbe. (which is why they probably added it)
  • Autumn Olive Fruit Extract:  The addition of this ingredient is a bit of a mystery to me at first, and I couldn’t find much in the way of benefits of it during my research.  Wiki has a page on it, and according to them it contains a 7 – 17 times higher content of Lycopene than an average tomato. (6)  If you weren’t already aware, Lycopene is a strong antioxidant that has numerous benefits.
  • Ashwagandha Root and Leaf extract:  While more commonly used in male sexual enhancement supplements, Ashwagandha Root and Leaf extract has also been shown to help relieve anxiety, and to help the body cope with stress (7)

Here’s a snapshot of the label:

xenadrine ultimate ingredients label

As you can see, there’s a ton of Caffeine in Xenadrine Ultimate.  200 mg per serving to be exact, which is about double the caffeine content in a standard cup of coffee.

how much caffeine in xenadrine ultimate

With the addition of Yohimbe, which is a powerful stimulant as well, this can make for a very jittery experience.  Clearly if you are sensitive to stimulants you may want to pass on this one.

The recommended dose reflects caution:

how to take xenadrine ultimate

As you can see, they specifically state that you should take 1 serving twice daily for the first few days.  In order to get the best effects, it’s defintely a good idea to take Xenadrine Ultimate on an empty stomach about 30 – 60 minutes before main meals.

On days 4 and beyond, it’s suggested that you take 2 capsules twice per day.

Don’t force yourself to do this!

Listen to your body.  If the jitters are too much, or you just overall feel uncomfortable, I would not recommend upping your dose like this.

According to them, in 2 scientific research studies involving their key ingredient Coffee Robusta, participants on average saw

  • A reduction in weight by 10.9 lbs. vs. 5.4 lbs. by a placebo group in a 60 day study, and
  • A 3.7 vs. 1.2 lbs. by a placebo group in a separate 8 week study

xenadrine ultimate clinical study

Both studies included a calorie reduced diet and moderate exercise, and you can read both of them here.

Xenadrine 21-Day Starter Plan

One of the best things Xenadrine Ultimate has going for them is their 21-Day starter plan.  For someone like myself, who has been into diet and exercise since I was like 16 years old, this information is not very informative.

HOWEVER, for someone who is just starting out and is unsure of how to approach weight loss effectively, this information is gold.

xenadrine ultimate 21 day starter plan

They break out their 21-day plan into Strength days, Cardio Days, and Rest Days, outlining what you should be doing on each day.

Their nutrition plan includes a breakdown of daily protein, fat, and carbs requirements based on a 1500 calorie diet, which of course should be tailored to each individual based on their own calorie needs.

xenadrine nutrition plan

They provide healthy meal plans, which include the exact ingredients needed.

The only downside is they don’t give specific instructions on how to cook these items, however, any decent cook will be able to figure it out on their own.

My Personal Results

xenadrine ultimate reviewIt’s been quite a while since I tested a weight loss supplement, and I figured since I needed to lose about 8 pounds I put on over the winter, this would be a good test.  As with any stimulant-heavy supplement, I decided I would start off with just 1 capsule per day for the first few days, and then gradually work my way up.

I skipped my usual cup of coffee this particular morning, and instead popped one of the capsules (which are surprisingly large).  I could definitely start to feel the effects kick in within about 20 minutes, and by the one hour mark it seemed to have peaked.

The first thing I noticed was any hunger pangs I had were completely eliminated.

I didn’t feel hungry AT ALL for a good 2 hours.

Another thing I noticed was a slight sense of nausea, which again, is very common with products containing yohimbe.

It wasn’t a debilitating nausea, but a slightly uncomfortable one.

For that first day I would say the effects lasted about 3 hours and then started to taper off.

After a few days of just taking 1 pill, I decided to take 2 in the morning.  I though about dividing up the dose by taking 1 pill first thing in the am, and then another one later in the day, but didn’t want to risk getting insomnia.

Just like on the first day, I felt it kick in after about 20 minutes, HOWEVER this time the effects were much more pronounced.

In fact, they felt like they were doubled (no surprise there, right?)

I decided to go to the gym early that day, and what followed was one of the most intense workouts I’ve had in a long time.

I could literally feel the energy surging through my body, and after a 45 minute weight lifting session I found myself on the treadmill for a quick 5K.

About 4 hours later is when I felt the crash.

It wasn’t the type of crash I’ve gotten with other supplements like Zantrex Black and Fastin, but a crash nonetheless.

All in all, I took Xenadrine Ultimate for about 2 weeks and dropped about 6 lbs.

Not bad, considering I didn’t really change up my diet.

Other Xenadrine Ultimate Reviews

All in all, feedback for Xendarine Ultimate is mixed, which is not surprising for a weight loss supplement.  Out of the 152 reviews currently on Amazon, a slight majority of 51% of people rated it 5 stars.

Almost all of the reviews had the following benefits:

  • Curbed appetite (this one is mentioned constantly)
  • Increased energy

The only useful video review I found was on Youtube:

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTigBmPD5GM]

Some of the most commonly reported Xenadrine Ultimate side effects include:  Headaches, Insomnia, Stomach Cramps, Diarrhea, Anxiety attacks, Increased heart rate, and chest pains.  These are no doubt caused by the Caffeine and Yohimbe content contained in the supplement.

Xenadrine Pros and Cons

Advantages of Xenadrine

  • I’ve personally tested it, with favorable results.
  • There are lots of reviews from happy customers who say it works.
  • Xenadrine has undergone a couple of clinical tests showing that it works far better than a placebo when used in conjunction with a reduced calorie diet and exercise program.
  • It’s relatively inexpensive to try.
  • You can find it conveniently in stores near you, as well as online.

Disadvantages of Xenadrine

  • Some people experience stimulant-related side effects with Xenadrine.
  • A bottle only lasts 10 days when used at full dose as directed.
  • There are several Xenadrine reviews complaining that it just doesn’t work.

Where to Buy

Xenadrine is in drug stores, big box stores like Walmart, as well as online. The 60 capsule bottle sells for about $25, and I didn’t see any evidence of a money back guarantee.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I have to say that Xenadrine Ultimate does indeed WORK!

Does it work better than the original formula?

I don’t personally think so.

After all, the original formula featured an ingredient that was so good that it got put in every other supplement of its kind before eventually being banned, so a dip in quality is expected but it is a good supplement never the less.

However, it does seem to curb appetite, as well as help provide increased energy for physical activity.

It’s not a miracle weight loss supplement.

In fact, there are no “miracle weight loss supplements”, at least none that I’ve tested.

But if you are committed to leading a healthy lifestyle which includes diet and exercise, Xenadrine Ultimate will help you get there.

If you do well with stimulants, Xenadrine may very well work for you. Make sure to start off slowly, though, to give yourself a chance to find out how you’ll be effected. I like that they emphasize a healthy diet and exercise program to go along with the Xenadrine because those are the real keys to weight loss. Supplements like Xenadrine help, but it’s the commitment on your part that really determines your success.

Pre Workout Supplements Guide

Click Here for a downloadable version of this guide.

As you gear up for each workout that’s set to come your way, you want to be doing everything you can to foster a peak performance.

This includes making sure that your pre-workout meal before exercise is optimized, making sure that you are doing a brief warm-up before you hit the weights to get the blood pumping to the muscles, and ensuring that you are doing something to get into the fierce and focused mental state that will allow you to hit a new PR.

In addition to all this, it’s also worthwhile to consider some of the supplements out there designed to help you take your performance up to the next level. With a wide range of pre-workout options, you can have your pick based on what it is you most hope to achieve.

Let’s walk you through some of the basic need-to-know information about which pre workouts will help and which will only hinder your progress – if not put you at risk for serious side effects.

The Most Commonly Seen Pre Workout Ingredients

pre workout supplementsThe first thing you must know when it comes to pre workout supplements is that most will be ‘stacked supplements’.

What this means is that very rarely will you see a product that contains just one ingredient.

Instead, it’s a combination of ingredients, which will have a synergist effect, giving you multiple benefits at once.

By understanding what each unique ingredient does, you can better put together the whole picture and decide whether that supplement is a smart one for you to be using.

Here are the most common ingredients to know.

Beta Alanine

The first ingredient to note is beta-alanine, which is a non-essential amino acid that can help to boost the level of performance you show in the gym.

It’ll help to enhance mental focus and concentration, delay the onset of fatigue, help to improve your overall endurance level, and can also help you generate more power for any explosive movements you may be doing.

Potential Side Effects:

The most noticeable side effect of beta-alanine is a pins and needs feeling that generally occurs 15-20 minutes after ingesting it.

This can also create a burning or itching sensation, which some individuals may find rather uncomfortable.

Taking around 800 mg will cause this sensation to occur for about 60-90 minutes, while taking dosages of 3 grams or more of this ingredient can cause severe sensations that are more significant.

It’s recommended not to consume more than 800-1200 mg of beta-alanine a day when first starting to assess your tolerance.

Eating food with the supplement will also help to reduce this side effect, however can also lower the overall stimulant response that you achieve from it.

L-Arginine

L-Arginine on the other hand is another amino acid that is primarily used to help produce nitric oxide in the body.

When this substance is present, it will have a vasodilation effect, which dilates the blood vessels and increases the rate of oxygen, blood, and nutrients flowing to the muscle cells.

This in turn does two things.First, it will help give you better muscle pumps, which indicates your muscles are filling with blood and second, it can delay the onset of fatigue as well.

You’ll notice a decreased rate of lactic acid build-up when using this product, which can help you squeeze out a few more reps during those highly intense sets.

This ingredient may also help to boost your recovery rate, so you can get back into the gym again after that workout is competed. You’ll find various forms of L-Arginine in nearly every pre workout supplement, including nitrocut.

Potential Side Effects:

L-Arginine is considered generally safe for most people however some may experience unwanted side effects such as abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, and low blood pressure if higher dosages are taken.

Caffeine

Most people have at some point or another consumed caffeine, so you may have a pretty good idea what this one is all about.A great energy boosting ingredient, caffeine can also help to increase the rate of fat oxidation taking place, speeding along fat burning results.

It may also have slight metabolic enhancing effects, meaning you’ll burn more calories for a few hours after using it.

If fat loss is a goal, caffeine can give you that extra edge you need when energy levels are low due to reduced food intake.

Another herbal ingredient that is very similar only stronger to caffeine you may also see used is called Guarana.

Potential Side Effects:

Because caffeine is a nervous system stimulant, it comes with a long list of potential side effects.

These include increased feelings of anxiety and jitteriness, difficulty sleeping, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, and with ongoing use, it can also lead to central nervous system burnout.

As it is an addictive substance, many people who use higher dosages daily will also become dependent on it and experience strong withdrawal headaches and fatigue if their dose is missed on any given day.

Yohimbe

Yohimbe is another product that is especially geared toward those who are aiming to burn fat.

It can help to increase the rate of fat oxidation during periods of high blood flow to fat tissues (such as during exercise), so is typically taken best during the pre workout period.

Note however that high insulin levels (such as if you had a very carb-dense pre-workout meal) will blunt the effects of yohimbe, so this supplement is best taken either on an empty stomach or after a light pre-workout meal containing no more than 20-30 grams of carbs.

This ingredient may also boost your mood, which for anyone who’s ever been on an intense diet before, knows you can definitely use.

Potential Side Effects:

Possible side effects you may see while using this supplement include increased blood pressure as well as increased heart rate, therefore anyone with pre-existing heart or blood pressure issues should take caution before using this ingredient.

In addition to this, some people will also experience increased feelings of nervousness or anxiety, irritability, insomnia, headaches, nausea, diarrhea, palpitations, increased sweating rate, dizziness, and skin flushing.

Due to the high number of possible side effects associated with this product, many people do choose to forgo any pre workout supplements containing it.

Vitamin B12

A natural vitamin that you will take in through your every day diet, vitamin B12 can significantly boost energy levels.

Most people are not taking in concentrated enough dosages however through their daily diet, which is where supplementation comes in.

Vitamin B12 may also help to enhance the nervous system, which can mean you put forth more intense workouts each and every time you hit the gym.

Finally, it also supports a healthy metabolic rate, so is key for enhancing the fat burning response.

Potential Side Effects:

Side effects with this ingredient are very rare and only occur during high dosages.

Should they occur, they would include mild diarrhea, anxiety, insomnia, difficulty breathing, experiencing chest pain, itchy skin, heartburn, as well as possibly back pain.

Creatine

The next ingredient you may find in some pre workout products is creatine.

Creatine is the pre-curser to the high energy compound ATP, which will provide energy for intense muscle contractions to take place.

When your natural creatine stores run out, ATP production will slow and the intensity of your workout will decline.

By supplementing, you go in with fully saturated stores, you’ll be able to push through each set, doing more reps than you otherwise would.

Check out my top choice for creatine, called Muscle Advance.

Potential Side Effects:

The most common side effect associated with creatine use is increased water retention, which may occur if one does a loading period.

As most pre-workout supplements only contain smaller dosages of creatine (not the 20 gram loading dose prescribed), this should be a very small concern.

Most people will tolerate the level of creatine used reliably well.

Taurine

If you’re looking for a mental energy boost, taurine is your solution. This amino acid will increase focus and concentration, while also improving your overall energy levels.

It also has positive effects on protein absorption, so will ensure that your body is using the protein from that pre-workout meal to the best of its capabilities.

Potential Side Effects:

As taurine is a natural amino acid, few side effects will ever be seen from regular use.

In very high dosages, some individuals may experience diarrhea along with increased stomach acid, which could potentially lead to stomach ulcers. If you use as instructed, you should never experience these negative side effects.

Citrulline Malate

Citrulline Malate has similar effects to that of L-Arginine as it actually supports Arginine production in the body.

So if your supplement doesn’t contain L-arginine but does contain Citrulline, take comfort in knowing you are getting virtually the same effects.

Potential Side Effects:

Most people tolerate this supplement fine with no side effects, however few people may experience mild stomach cramping upon use.

BCAAs

Branched chain amino acids are another important part of many pre-workout products.

These are particular amino acids that move directly into the muscle cells where they can be used for energy boosting purposes as well as to help improve performance.

They will also help to prevent muscle tissue breakdown, which can then mean improved recovery during the post-workout period.

Potential Side Effects:

As these are naturally occurring amino acids, no side effects should be seen with regular use.

Niacin

Finally, niacin is also another common ingredient added to pre-workout products.

It’s a B vitamin that will help to transport enzymes that help to break down the foods you eat so that you can put them to use for energy production.

In addition to that, it also helps to support both your immune system as well as your nervous system function, both of which are key for optimal exercise performance.

Potential Side Effects:

In dosages of greater than 50 mg may cause some flushing, which is a sensation of warmth due to the dilation of blood vessels. This should pass within 30 minutes or so of onset.

So there you have a brief run-down of all the key ingredients found in most pre-workout products.

They will usually have some combination of these, so it’s up to you to assess which ones they contain and choose the ones that you feel most comfortable using.

A Note On Stimulant Versus Non-Stimulant Pre-Workout Supplements

One additional thing to note is that you can purchase both stimulant and non-stimulant pre-workout products.

The difference here would be that the non-stimulant pre-workout products will not contain Guarana or caffeine, so will be less harsh for the central nervous system.

As many people do not react well to caffeine or are already taking in multiple cups of coffee per day and don’t want to add any additional to their regime, non-stimulant pre-workouts would be the best bet.

These will keep side effect risks lower and can be used for a longer period of time without a break.

For those who are using stimulant based pre-workouts, taking a break for 1-2 weeks after every 8-12 weeks of continual use is a wise idea to ensure that your body doesn’t build up a tolerance to the caffeine (which would then mean you need to keep increasing your dose to get the same energy boosting effects), as well as to simply give your nervous system a break from the ongoing effects of caffeine.

Dangerous Pre-Workout Supplements: Steer Clear

Finally, no pre-workout guide would be complete without discussing some potentially dangerous ingredients to steer clear of.

Some ingredients take things a little too far and the risks associated with them outweigh any potential benefits and should therefore be avoided.

In some cases, particularly ingredients are outright banned due to their safety concerns, so getting them will be much more trying.

There’s no reason to ever put your health at risk using these supplements simply for the sake of an added boost to your workout and fat loss progress.

The primarily ingredients to be aware of include:

  • N,alpha-DEPEA (found in OxyELITE Pro amongst other products) – has been linked to liver failures and possible death
  • Ephedrine (found in a variety of older version fat burners and can also be called bitter orange) – has been linked to cases of heart attacks and death
  • 1,3-dimethylamylamine (DMAA) (found in products such as Jack3d and 1MR) – has been associated with increased risk of heart attacks

If you come across any products containing these three ingredients, steer clear.

They are not proven to be safe and you will be putting yourself directly at risk by using them.

So there you have the main points to know about pre-workout products.

By choosing carefully, you can find the best pre-workout supplement that will help you improve performance and achieve those long term goals you have set for yourself.

Growth Maximizer Pro Review – Does It Work?

Growth Maximizer Pro Overview

The question of the day: can a supplement make you grow taller?

If you’re someone who wishes you had a few more inches on you, you may have come across some products that promise to do just that.

If you’re like most people, you’re skeptical, but hopeful.

It would seem like if there were a pill or a spray that actually worked, it would be big news and everybody would be using it.

So what are these supplements, and do they really work?

Growth Maximizer Pro is the one we’re looking into today.

The promises they make are pretty bold. “Use this Super Formula to Get Quick Energy and More Stamina in Just 3 Days.

Then Add Up To 3 Inches in 120 Days Without Rebounding Ever.

Even While Eating The Delicious Foods You Love.” They say this is the one that will finally end the disappointment you felt with all other height increasing programs out there.

No more failures, just real and permanent growth.

Growth Maximizer Pro ReviewGrowth Maximizer Pro Ingredients and How They Work

The way Growth Maximizer Pro works is by combining energy stimulators with Human Growth stimulators.

It then goes on to block inhibitors of height growth to deliver the whole package.

The core of the formula is HGX, and it’s the proprietary combination of:

  • Garcinia Cambogia which contains HCA (Hydroxycitric Acid).

HCA can block inhibitors to height growth, and prevent them from attaching to the body.
  • Cascara Sagrada which supports the colon, liver, gallbladder, and digestive system to provide the right atmosphere for growth.

The rest of the formula is not disclosed, but it is said to increase HGH levels as well as energy levels,

Growth Maximizer Pro comes in liquid spray form.

Instructions have you using 3 sprays under the tongue, 3 times a day.

The ingredients are quickly absorbed into your blood stream, so they get to work right away.

Growth Maximizer Pro Pros and Cons

Advantages of Growth Maximizer Pro

  • There’s a money back guarantee.
  • The spray formula may be more convenient than pills

Disadvantages of Growth Maximizer Pro

  • There’s no scientific testing that shows Growth Maximizer Pro works.

To the contrary it is well known that once your growth plates fuse as you’re entering adulthood, you can no longer grow.
  • They only disclose 2 ingredients, neither of which has any effect on growth or height.

Where to Buy

You can purchase Growth Maximizer Prothrough their official website.

A 3 month supply costs $159.99. That’s the one you should probably go with, since the guarantee is good for 90 days.

Conclusion

Height is determined primarily by genetics.Your environment during your growing years also plays a role, albeit a smaller role.

If you meet proper nutrition and sleep requirements, you’ll likely grow to your full potential.

If you lack in either area or both, you’ll probably be a bit below.

Once you reach proper adulthood, there is simply not a supplement in the world that can make you grow taller. Growth Maximizer Pro cannot live up to its ridiculous claims of inches and inches of height increases..

They’re just praying on the desperation of people who really believe life would be better if only they were a few inches taller.

But the reality is, a fit and healthy body is the best body, no matter how tall.

Certain things are predestined long before we even reach puberty and the fact of the matter is that there are no products that are going to simply change how are bodies are already wired to be.

Thrive Formulas Pre Workout Review – Should You Use It?

Thrive Formulas Pre Workout Overview

Thrive Formulas is a relatively new company founded to support their customers in their active lifestyles.

At this point, they have two products: an anti-inflammatory called Pivot and a pre workout supplement they call Thrive Formulas Pre Workout.

The second is the one we’re looking into today.

Thrive Formulas Pre Workout is a concentrated formula that provides energy, pumps, and fat burning for any man or woman who wants to improve the results of their workouts.

With only one scoop, you’ll be burning more fat and calories, feeling more pumps, and synthesizing more muscle than you do with 2 or 3 scoops of some of the other stuff. That’s the promise.

Now let’s see if they can deliver the goods.

Thrive Formulas Pre Workout ReviewThrive Formulas Pre Workout Ingredients and How They Work

The Thrive Formulas Pre Workout formula is proprietary.

That means they tell us what’s in it, but they don’t tell us how much.

While that’s not preferred, it is pretty typical, so we’ll have to work with it.

Thrive Formulas Pre Workout is a creatine-free pre workout.

That’s probably preferable to us since we’d rather take our creatine separately and throughout the day anyway.

So what IS in this stuff?

The Thrive Formulas Pre WorkoutMatrix includes:

  • L-Citrulline Malate which will increase nitric oxide for better pumps.
  • Beta Alanine which reduces lactic acid build up in muscles so you can work out longer.
  • Caffeine for energy and focus.
  • Citrus Aurantium (aka Bitter Orange) for fat burning and energy.

The recommended dose is 1 scoop, though they recommend that you start with ½ to assess your tolerance for the stimulants before you jump in with both feet.

Thrive Formulas Pre Workout Pros and Cons

Advantages of Thrive Formulas Pre Workout

  • The ingredient list is short, which can be refreshing with so many products full of dozens of ingredients.
  • There are plenty of positive Thrive Formulas Pre Workout reviews on Amazon.

Disadvantages of Thrive Formulas Pre Workout

  • If you look more closely at the Amazon reviews, you’ll see that there are basically 2 categories of review: Love It and Hate It.

And what’s more, the Hate It’s accuse the Love Its of being fake. This is certainly not unheard of. In fact, it happens all the time.

A company will have its employees log in, sometimes purchase the product and sometimes not, and leave a glowing (but fake) review.

I don’t know that this is what happened here, but there are a lot of people who actually used Thrive Formulas Pre Workoutthat think the positive reviews are fake.

Where to Buy

Thrive Formulas Pre Workout is available through the Thrive Formulas website and Amazon.

The 30 serving tub sells for $39.99 on the website, but you can save almost $10 by going through Amazon.

Conclusion

I’d say there’s too much uncertainty to warrant trying Thrive Formulas Pre The company is new.

The product formula doesn’t stand out as anything particularly special. And the reviews are suspect.

There are much more solid choices; I suggest you go with one of those.

360Cut 360PRE Pre Workout Activator Overview

When it comes to a pre workout powder, your choices are almost endless. That’s mostly good news for you.

It means you don’t have to settle for anything less than what you want.

One product that we’ve looked into recently is 360Cut 360PRE Pre Workout Activator.

You can get it on Amazon as well as some other online retailers.

The benefits you can expect to find with this stuff are:

  • Great taste.
  • Intense workouts.
  • Lasting endurance.

Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout Review

Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout Overview

The focus of Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout is clearly on increased blood flow for better muscle pumps.

There are no stimulants to make you jittery or cause you to crash in a couple hours.

Just a strong and complete focus on the pump side of things. That’s the focus.

Now let’s dig down and see if Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout succeeds at achieving that goal.

Betancourt Nutrition Pump'd Pre Workout ReviewBetancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout Ingredients and How They Work

Most nitric oxide boosting pre workout supplements use L-Arginine as their primary NO boosting ingredient.

This is not the case with Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout.

They cite several studies indicating that L-Arginine supplementation might not be the best way to go afterall.

For that reason, Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout uses other ingredients to get that job done:

  • Hydromax which supports cell growth and promotes nutrient delivery.
  • Agmapure which promotes nitric oxide by inhibiting the process of its breakdown.

    It includes Agmatine Sulfate.
  • Endoginine N-Carbamylglutamate which increases your body’s own L-Arginine synthesis process and L-Norvaline which inhibits L-Arginine breakdown so more of it can and does convert into nitric oxide.
  • Beet Root which contains nitrate which converts to nitric acid.
  • The formula also includes BCAAs (or Branched Chain Amino Acids) which improve your post workout recovery.

It is suggested that you start with 1 scoop of Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout with water about 20 minutes before you work out.

You can use up to 2 scoops on training days once you build up your tolerance, and it’s recommended that you use 1 scoop even on non-workout days.

Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout Pros and Cons

Advantages of Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout

  • It doesn’t contain stimulants so it’s suitable for someone who doesn’t want or can’t have stimulants.
  • The formula places a strong focus on muscle pumps.
  • It comes in Citrus Punch and Strawberry Kiwi.

Disadvantages of Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout

  • Some guys want stimulants to get them going.
  • Several Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout reviews state that it doesn’t really do anything.
  • It’s not the cheapest pre workout around.

Where to Buy

You can find Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout for sale online through a few different outlets.

The Betancourt Nutrition website sell 30 servings for $65, but you can get the same tub for $32.50 at Bodybuilding.com

Conclusion

If you don’t want stimulants but you still want a strong, nitric oxide focused pre workout for the pumps you’ll get, give Betancourt Nutrition Pump’d Pre Workout
The price variation is wide.

Force Factor BRX Review – Should You Use It?

Force Factor BRX Overview

Force Factor BRX presents itself as the no-nonsense, down to business pre workout powder that has everything you need, and nothing else.

No fillers, no added sugars, no unnecessary ingredients at all.

Just the good stuff you need to perform better at the gym so you get better results.

Nothing more, nothing less.

The long form of the name is “Body Rush X” and what you can expect from taking it is long lasting energy and focus, great pumps, and increased muscle strength and endurance so you’re working out both harder and longer.

And this is how you get the kinds of results you want.

My Personal Results

Personally speaking, I think BRX is a decent pre workout supplement.

It only contains 100 mg of caffeine per scoop, and the label says you should take 2 scoops about 30 min. before working out.

I could feel it kick in after about 45 min., but it was nothing “crazy” feeling. Just a bit of a boost and motivation for my workout.

For some reason the label also says you should take BRX pre workout on rest days. I figured maybe it could help as a nootropic supplement, maybe giving me some extra motivation to get work done.

In my opinoin, if anything it provides more energy and motivation to do physical stuff, and doesn’t seem to help with focusing / concentrating on mental work.

The taste, I’m NOT a big fan. I got the Blue Raz flavor (which I think is the only flavor), and it left a pretty bitter aftertaste.

I prefer pre workout supplements with watermelon, lemon, or strawberry flavors, but to each his own.

brx pre workout reviewForce Factor BRX Ingredients and How They Work

True to their advertising, there aren’t a lot of different ingredients in Force Factor BRX.

There’s:

  • A B-Vitamin complex made up of Thiamine, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12. This provides a degree of energy to get you moving.
  • Creatine to increase muscle strength so you can push more weight while you’re working out.
  • Beta Alanine to increase muscle endurance by reducing the buildup of lactic acid which causes muscle fatigue.
  • N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine for increased muscle pumps
  • Vinpocetine and Huperzine A to increase focus and concentration.
  • Caffeine for an energy boost.

The recommended dose is 1 Force Factor BRX scoop mixed with water a few minutes before working out.

The Force Factor BRX formula is concentrated so the provided serving-size scoop is smaller than it is for most pre workout powders.

Force Factor BRX Pros and Cons

Advantages of Force Factor BRX

  • It doesn’t contain lots of fillers.
  • There are plenty of favorable Force Factor BRX reviews from customers who’ve used it.
  • It’s cheap.

Disadvantages of Force Factor BRX

  • Lots of Force Factor BRX reviews portray it as “so-so”.

It’s not bad, but it’s not great either.
  • You may have to use more than one serving at a time to get the effect you’re after.

Where to Buy

You can purchase Force Factor BRX online. At the Force Factor website, the 40 serving tub costs $40, but if you look around, you can get it for as little as $10.99. That’s a huge difference so make sure you shop around.

Conclusion

If you can get Force Factor BRXfor the low price of $10.99, I would definitely say go for it.I would, however, question whether or not it’s worth $40. It’s a decent pre workout if you don’t want a bunch of stimulants and additives, but it’s not the best thing out there.

Pro Supps Dr. Jekyll Review – Does It Work?

Pro Supps Dr. Jekyll Overview

Pro Supps makes several pre workout formulas.

They’ve got one called Hyde, which is said to bring out the animal side of anyone.

The one we’re looking at today is called Pro Supps Dr. Jekyll.

This one is said to provide everything you want in a pre workout, but without turning you into your “evil alter ego.” With Pro Supps Dr. Jekyll, you’ll see energy, pumps, strength, and endurance, but on a more “human” level than what you get with their Hyde product.

Pro Supps Dr. Jekyll ReviewPro Supps Dr. Jekyll Ingredients and How They Work

The Pro Supps Dr. Jekyll formula is broken down into 5 complexes to get the job done:

  • The Endurance Complex uses Beta Alanine and L-Histidine Monohydrochloride to increase muscle endurance by hindering the buildup of lactic acid which causes muscle fatigue.
  • The Amino Matrix uses primarily L-Leucine to ensure smooth post workout muscle recovery.
  • The Strength Matrix contains Creatine Hydrochloride to provide added muscle energy and strength, allowing you to push more weight and get more results.
  • The Energy & Focus Matrix includes Caffeine and Pikatropin.

The 100mg of caffeine provides energy without going overboard and the Pikatropin enhances focus and cognitive ability.
  • The Pump Matrix includes L-Citrulline Malate, Agmatine Sulfage, and L-Norvaline to increase the presence of nitric oxide, allowing for more blood to flow to your muscles.

This means better oxygen and nutrient delivery and better pumps.

The recommended dose is 1 scoop mixed with water about half an hour before your workout.

You can up that to as much as 2 scoops if that’s what works best for you.

Pro Supps Dr. Jekyll Pros and Cons

Advantages of Pro Supps Dr. Jekyll

  • It’s got caffeine, but not too much, so there’s energy, but not jitters.
  • There are tons of positive Pro Supps Dr. Jekyll reviews, with most talking about clean energy and post workout recovery.
  • It’s a very well-rounded formula with nitric oxide boosters, amino acids, and creatine.
  • There are plenty of flavors, and most reviews say they taste great and mix well.

Disadvantages of Pro Supps Dr. Jekyll

  • For guys who need lots of stimulants, Pro Supps Dr. Jekyll may not be enough.

Where to Buy

You can purchase Pro Supps Dr. Jekyllonline. The 30 serving tub, which should take you through 30 workouts if you use just one scoop, sells for about $30.

Conclusion

There’s a lot to like about Pro Supps Dr. Jekyll, and most customer reviews I’ve seen tend to agree. If you’re good with some stimulant, but not too much, this is a good choice.

The taste is good, the energy and focus are strong, and the pumps are plenty.

Amphetarol Review – Does It Really Work?

Millions of college students around the country will do whatever it takes to get an edge in the classroom. Many often turn to medications for ADHD, often obtained without a prescription from someone who has one. However, what if there was an all natural supplement that mimicked the effects of adderall and was freely available over the counter, and gave you the EXACT same effects as those drugs did?

Well Amphetarol, an all natural nootropic supplement we recently had a chance to test out, promises just that. I came across it when I was doing my research on some of the latest Nootropics on the market, and was intrigued by what I was reading. But, does this supplement really work the way they say it does, or is it just full of hype. We set out to learn everything about this supplement to help you make an informed decision.

Click Here to jump to my personal results.

What is Amphetarol?

amphetarol reviewMarketed and sold by a company called Gentech, Amphetarol is a dietary supplement that was apparently designed to help increase mental focus, improve memory and cognition, as well as help with alertness and concentration. It does this through a proprietary blend of ingredients, which are: dimethylaminoethanol, 1 3 7-trimethylxanthine, beta-phenylethylamine, L-Theanine, cytidine 5′-diphosphocholine, synephrine hcl, n n-dimethyl-4-hydroxyphenylethylamine, schizandrol a, and Vinpocetine.

Without going into a ridiculously lengthy (and boring) discussion about each one of these ingredients, I’ll provide a quick snapshot of what they are and what they’re supposed to do:

Dimethylaminoethanol – Effectually known as DMAE, this ingredient is a primary alcohol whos effects have been clinically studied to have the potential to increase vigilance and alertness, along with a positive influence in mood. (1)

1 3 7-trimethylxanthine – Caffeine…literally, that’s it. It’s caffeine, and it is not reported how much is in one pill (although I would guess not very much).

L-Theanine – Theanine has been studied for it’s ability to potentially reduce stress by inducing a relaxing effect without making you drowsy. However, there really isn’t enough data at this point to support those claims. (2)

Cytidine 5′-diphosphocholine – Otherwise known as Citicoline, this ingredient has been shown in preliminary research to help prevent memory impairment, as well as improve memory and mental energy. (3)

Synephrine hcl – Bitter orange as it’s commonly known, this extract has been advertised to help treat a wide variety of ailments, including weight loss, anxiety, and even allergies. There is very little evidence to suggest, however, that it can help increase mental cognition or focus. (4)

n n-dimethyl-4-hydroxyphenylethylamine – Also known as Hordenine, this compound has been used by bodybuilders as a weight loss supplement because of its central nervous system stimulant properties. (4)

Schizandrol a – Derived from an ancient chinese medicinal herb called Schisandra, schizandrol a has been shown in one clinical study involving rats to cause significant elevations of dopamine with a 50 mg dose. (5)

Vinpocetine – There is some evidence to suggest that Vinpocetine “may” have a small effect on the decline of thinking skills due to various causes, the evidence is still insufficient.

You can click here if you’d like to see a photo of the label.

So Does Amphetarol Really Work?

Well, from my experience, no. Before I continue, I think I should give you a little background of the types of nootropic supplements. Some of these supplements are designed to work right away (think like 30 – 45 min.) and some are designed to be taken over a period of time (like 2 – 4 weeks) before they reach their intended effect. Amphetarol is advertised as both a “fast acting” as well as a long term supplement, and they do mention that it can take 3 or more months to see the best results. For the purposes of this review, I tried this supplement for 2 weeks to assess its fast acting properties.

I took it exactly as described in the directions (which calls for 1 capsule daily), and waited for it to kick in. Being that it contains caffeine, I expected at the VERY least I would get a gentle but noticeable increase in energy, but apparently it doesn’t contain too much of the stuff because I didn’t feel anything.

There was no eye-opening clarity, no sudden burst of focus or concentration, and certainly didn’t help with memory recall from what I could tell.

Is it safe?

Unlike many other nootropic supplements, Amphetarol does contain a number of stimulants that may cause side effects including increased anxiety and irritation. My suggestion would be that you take on a full stomach, first thing in the morning to lessen the effects and to assess your individual tolerance.

To help lessen these side effects you could also consider combining it with a stress relieving supplement like phenibut. Phenibut works similar to a benzodiazapene, but is completely legal and doesn’t require a prescription.

Is it Amphetarol or AdderRx?

One thing that REALLY caught my eye which I didn’t notice before was the label. If you look REALLY closely, you’ll see that the Ampheterol label was actually placed over a label of a different product called AddeRx. Check out this video below to see what I’m talking about:

I have NO IDEA why they would have done this, but my guess is that maybe because the name was “similar” sounding to Adderall, that the makers might have been a bit jumpy about the potential for a lawsuit over the name. Either way, from what I can tell Amphetarol and AdderRx are EXACTLY the same product, with exactly the same ingredients.

Recommendation

I’m not sure where all these rave reviews of Amphetarol came from on Amazon…my suspicion is that the reviewers were either a.) paid by the company to endorse it, b.) taking a different dose, perhaps more then 1 capsule, or c.) they got a really good batch that I unfortunately didn’t get.

I would be lying to you if my gut feeling didn’t tell me that I think the reviewers were paid, but of course there really isn’t any way for me to prove that. From my overall experience, I’d have to say that it doesn’t actually work as well as they say it does. However, just like every other supplement we’ve tested on the market, individual results WILL vary.

That said, I think there are a number of alternatives on the market that would better suit most people.

Purus Labs Condense Pre Workout Overview

I know plenty of guys who’ve never bought the same pre workout twice.

This demonstrates a bunch of things: the market is saturated with tons of options, everybody’s different and responds differently to products, and the perfect, one-size-fits-all pre workout supplement has not yet been created.

But as long as supp companies keep making new stuff, we will keep trying it.

Purus Labs Condense Pre Workout presents itself as a different kind of pre workout powder.

It goes for extreme vasodilation, amplified cellular efficiency, buffered acidosis, and intense hydration, all leading to significantly greater endurance for your most grueling workouts.

The idea is that unlike other stimulant-focus pre workouts, Purus Labs Condense Pre Workout achieves true vasodilation and delivers all of its benefits.

Purus Labs Condense Pre Workout ReviewPurus Labs Condense Pre Workout Ingredients and How They Work

The ingredient profile for Purus Labs Condense Pre Workout is not typical.

Let’s break it down here:

It leads to increased nitric oxide in a more sustained way, which allows for long lasting fatigue delay as your muscles are continuously receiving the oxygen and nutrients they need to push on.
  • Beta Alanine which blunts the production of lactic acid in the muscles, allowing your more time before you feel the fatigue.
  • 1,3,7-Trimethylxanthine is a form of caffeine that provides energy and focus for more intense workouts.
  • Electrolytes (Sodium, Potassium, and Chloride) to maintain the correct balance of charges and hydration in your cells.

Purus Labs Condense Pre Workout Pros and Cons

Advantages of Purus Labs Condense Pre Workout

  • It takes a somewhat new approach to pre workout powders.
  • There are lots of Purus Labs Condense Pre Workout reviews where the user got great results.

Disadvantages of Purus Labs Condense Pre Workout

  • Lots of reviewers say the taste is just not good, especially the crisp apple.

Where To Buy

You can purchase Purus Labs Condense Pre Workout mainly online. The cost for the 40 serving tub is about $25-$30 depending on where you look.It comes in 3 flavors: Crisp Apple, Island Punch, and Melonberry Cooler.

Since it works a little differently than most options, it’s worth checking out.

My gut tells me, though, that it’s not quite as revolutionary as Purus Labs wants us to think.

That’s what Extreme Edge Pre Workout promises.

It’s part of the Extreme Edge Stackfrom Bluebonnet Nutrition (including Carbo Load and Post Workout formulas) which was designed to skip all the additives and banned substances in favor of a more clean, natural product that does the job better than you would expect an honest product to do.

Extreme Edge Pre Workout relies on a few key, trusted components to get the job done.

There’s:

  • L-Taurine and L-Tyrosine are free form amino acids that help with protein synthesis and muscle recovery because if you can get back to the gym in full force sooner, you’ll see that in your results too.
  • Caffeine from natural sources so you’ve got the energy you need to get motivated and focuses through your entire workout.

The level of caffeine in Extreme Edge Pre Workout is low enough so you’re not all jittery and you don’t end up with a crash half way through the day either.
  • L-Arginine to boost nitric oxide for better blood flow which means more efficient delivery of oxygen and nutrients to your muscles when you’re working out.
  • Creatine to give your muscles the energy they need to push harder through your workout.
  • BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids) including L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine, for improved post workout recovery.

How To Take Creatine – Your Complete Guide

How To Take Creatine – Your Complete Guide

You’ve done your research and have come to the decision that you’re going to take creatine. This very well documented supplement has been used for many years by bodybuilders and athletes alike, all who hope to improve their performance, increasing strength output and boosting endurance.

Conclusion

how does creatine work

There’s no denying the fact that creatine works, but if you want to see the best results from it, you need to know how to use it.

There are a few different strategies for using this popular supplement, so let’s take a closer look at each of these, giving you all the information you need to know moving forward.

Strategy #1: The Loading Strategy

how to take creatineThe first strategy is the one that is more commonly applied and involves a short period of loading before you move into the maintenance phase.

The goal here is to quickly saturate your creatine stores, which will be heavily depleted if you have been doing intense workouts previously without taking the supplement.

This allows you to start feeling the difference and seeing results rapidly.

How To Load Creatine

For the loading phase, you are to take twenty grams of creatine daily for a five day period.

It’s advised that you split this twenty gram dose up into four servings of five grams per serving.

It’s also important to note that this 20 gram dose is the average. If you want to get specific based on your body weight, see the chart below:

creatine dose by body weight in grams - loading and maintenance

When you take these servings is up to you, however taking one before the workout and one again after the workout is a smart move.

It’s actually why supplements like C4 pre workout and others include a small dose of creatine in their supplement.

c4 pre workout contains 1 gram of creatine

Moving On To The Maintenance Phase

Then once the initial five day loading period is up, you will then move into a maintenance phase, where you take 2 to 3 grams per day from that point forward.

At this point, your body should have reached full saturation so there is no need to keep taking the 20 gram dosage – 2 or 3 grams should be enough to keep you saturated while you do your intense workout sessions.

creatine levels at the end of a loading phase
Source: Healthline.com

Note that two or three grams should be enough to keep most individuals at the point of saturation.

With that said, larger individuals may be better off pushing this up to the 5 gram mark.

They have more muscle mass to support, thus can store more creatine.

What are the pros and cons of this strategy?

Pros

The biggest pro is the fact you will start noticing results quicker.

Within the five day period, you should already be noticing that your weight lifted is going up and you aren’t feeling as fatigued during the sessions you do.

In summary:

  • You’ll notice faster results
  • You’ll be able to lift heavier
  • You won’t feel as fatigued as usual

Cons

The con to this strategy however is that due to the very high 20 gram dose, many people will find they start to experience water retention and bloating to a more significant degree.

water retention from creatine

Some water retention and possibly bloating is common when you use creatine regardless of how much you are taking. (Source)

With that said, adding the loading period definitely makes it more noticeable.

If you are someone who is very concerned with aesthetics and doesn’t want to experience bloating, then this is not the strategy for you.

Likewise, some people may find that they begin to experience some muscle cramps with the loading phase in there.

muscle cramps from creatine

This is caused by creatines dehydrating properties, which can increase the bodies demand for water. (Source)

Of course, you can combat this by upping your water intake.

But some just don’t want to do that.

As a result, they choose to stay away from this and utilize the next strategy discussed instead.

In summary:

  • You’ll likely experience water retention and bloating
  • You may experience muscle cramps, although this is typically rare

Keep in mind that many higher quality creatine products are designed to minimize the bloating/water retention you experience, so depending on the particular brand you use, this may not be an issue anyway.

Strategy #2: The Single-Dose Strategy

This second strategy is the single dose strategy.

This is going to be more ideal for those who aren’t in any rush to see maximum results immediately and who want to stay looking as lean as possible (not experience any water retention).

How To Do This Strategy

With this strategy, you simply take your two to five grams of creatine right from the start.

So essentially, you skip loading and move straight into maintenance.

Here’s an example of what your dose would look like based on body weight:

creatine dose by weight - single dose strategy

Given enough time, you will reach a point of full saturation with this strategy as well, it’ll just take longer to do so.

Some people may also wish to use the middle ground, taking 10 grams of creatine for 10 days straight and then move into the loading period from there. This will work as well and may help give you a bit of both worlds.

There’s a bunch of pre workout supplements that include a small amount of creatine into the mix, including ones like 4 Gauge pre workout.

4 gauge pre workout review
My preferred pre workout with creatine, 4 Gauge.

What are the pros and cons of this strategy?

Pros

  • You won’t experience bloating or water retention, or if you do, it will be dramatically less.

Cons

  • It will take longer to see the best results.

Some studies have actually concluded that it really doesn’t matter which strategy you use. (Source)

Back To Top of Page

Pre Or Post Workout?

Another question that typically comes up is whether you should be taking your create pre or post workout.

The answer is that all in all, it’s not going to matter all that much.

If you take it pre workout, you’ll prepare your body for the workout immediately ahead.

On the other hand, if you take it post workout, you’ll get your body ready at that point for the workout that’s coming your way next time.

What’s more important than the actual time you take your creatine is that you take it with some simple carbohydrates.

list of simple carbs to take pre workout with creatine

Note that I said some.

That does not mean you should house a 12 pack of donuts right before you’re gym routine. 🙂

As these simple carbohydrates spike blood glucose, this can help increase the uptake of the creatine into the muscle cells. (Source)

Because most trainees will be eating a higher carb meal immediately post workout (and not as often pre workout), this means that for many, post workout would be the time to take it.

If you eat simple carbs both before and after the session, then you have your pick between the two different time periods.

Remember that since creatine will cause the body to store additional water, it is a must that you increase your total water intake when you start using it. This will help you avoid any muscle cramps or the bloating that may occur as mentioned above.

Should You Use Creatine On Non-Training Days?

Finally, you may be wondering whether you should take it on off days or not?

Since you will not be depleting your creatine stores to nearly the same degree on off days (since creatine is primarily depleted with intense muscle contractions), you generally will not need to supplement with it when you aren’t doing a hard workout session.

However, some individuals may choose to still take a small dose for extra support and to ensure they are always keeping their ‘tank’ full, so to speak.

full tank of creatine

I’ve personally noticed that, if I take creatine on my off days, I definitely feel way less sore than if I don’t.

After reading through various forums like Bodybuilding.com and Quora, the general consensus seems to be the same…

If you’re in the loading phase, don’t take creatine on your rest days.

If you’re using the single-dose strategy or are in the maintenance phase, do not take creatine on your off days.

As creatine is a relatively cost effective supplement, most people will do well taking it daily to assure it’s working optimally.

Top Creatine Brands

I’ve personally used probably about a dozen brands of creatine over the years. In general, they all work very effectively.

Here’s some of the most popular brands I’ve personally tested:

Conclusion

So there you have your complete creatine usage guide.Depending on what’s most important to you and your own workout protocol, use this to help dictate how you choose to use this supplement.

Personally speaking, I like the single-dose strategy.

It eliminates the potential for bloating, and I just seem to get better results with it.

I also prefer to take creatine before a workout, which is why I like 4 Gauge pre workout so much (www.4Gauge.com).

It helps both to rev up your workout, AND prepares your body for the upcoming workout.

As I mentioned earlier, taking it pre or post workout isn’t a huge choice to make.

Just make sure you take it!

Finally, as for taking creatine on your off days, remember this will be dependent on whether or not you’re in the loading or maintenance phase.

You can do it either way, but I just noticed that avoiding creatine on the days you’ll be laying around on the couch works best if you’re already taking a huge dose of it.

As always, practice safety, exercise caution and listen to your body to see how each dose is affecting you personally and to make sure that you are not experiencing any ill side effects or interactions with any supplements or medications that you are currently taking.

As always if you have a more specific question concerning creatine you can always email us, we’re here to help!!

Elite NO2 Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement Review

Elite NO2 Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement Overview

One popular place to browse pre workout supplements is Amazon. There are tons and tons of them.

Some are the same ones you can find in stores and on other retail websites.

But some are pretty much found nowhere else except Amazon.

One of these is called Elite NO2 Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement.

There are a few strange things you’ll find when you start looking into this product.

The first one is that the listed name doesn’t match what’s on the bottle.

The bottle says NO2 Power Pump while the listed name is Elite NO2 Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement.

Okay, well, that is indeed strange, but what matters most is how well this stuff works or doesn’t work, so we’ll focus on that.

Elite NO2 Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement claims to take your workout to an entirely new level by reducing fatigue, speeding up recovery time, and destroying body fat.

So next, we look at the ingredients to see if this stuff is likely to deliver.

Elite NO2 Nitroc Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement ReviewElite NO2 Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement Ingredients and How They Work

Unfortunately, a complete ingredient list is not available.

We get a few bits and pieces about how from the ad page, so we’ll put together all that we know.

The one ingredient we know for sure is L-Argninine.

This amino acid is a precursor to nitric oxide.

Nitric Oxide is important because it’s a vasodilator.

That means it opens up your blood vessels, allowing an increased amount of blood to flow through.

More blood to your muscles means more oxygen and nutrients when they need them.

And this means better pumps, more energy, and an easier recovery processes.

No other ingredient information can be found.

Elite NO2 Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement Pros and Cons

Here’s where we try to lay out all the positive and negative aspects and come up with an assessment about whether or not Elite NO2 Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement is worth your time and money.

Advantages of Elite NO2 Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement

  • It’s cheap.
  • There’s a money back guarantee.
  • It comes in the form of a pill so it may be more convenient for some guys than a powder pre workout.

Disadvantages of Elite NO2 Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement

  • There’s no ingredient information.
  • The name of the product in the description doesn’t match the name on the bottle, which doesn’t really promote trust or faith in the company.

Where to Buy

You can purchase Elite NO2 Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement at Amazon.

The 30 day supply costs $19.95 which puts it at the low end for pre workout supplements.

Conclusion

With confusing labeling and without an ingredient list, the only real reason to go with Elite NO2 Nitric Oxide and L-Arginine Supplement is because it’s cheap. But remember, you get what you pay for.
