Summary / Recommendation
I want to start this review off with a couple of disclaimers…

1.) I am not, nor have I ever been, addicted to painkillers like Hydrocodone, Oxycontin, Oxycodone, etc.

2.) I am not a doctor, so don’t construe this as medical advice. Always check with your doctor before taking any kind of supplement.

3.) I am also not an addiction counselor, so if you’re fighting an addiction please don’t ask me for help. That’s not what I’m here for, and there’s plenty of other places you can turn for that.

What I do here at SupplementCritique.com is personally test out supplements and give my personal feedback as to how they worked for me.

supplements ive tested and evaluated

I do this to help people make smart buying decisions, and to give you a “no nonsense” feedback about the results I get.

I struggled for awhile on whether or not I wanted to publish this post to my readers. I’m very hesitant to recommend anything that has the potential for addiction / withdrawal issues. I care about my visitors, and they deserve to get the best information possible.

With that said, I would never recommend something that I haven’t personally tested myself.

I also wanted to state that none of the products on this page are technically over the counter drugs.

If you’re looking for an over the counter opiates list, you’ll be shit out of luck because one doesn’t exist.

Sure, you have:

  1. Advil – Not even close to being an opiate.
  2. Tylenol – Also not even close.
  3. Ibuprofren / Asprin – NSAIDs

Yes, all of these can provide effective pain relief at the right doses.

Yes, they’re all available over the counter.

But NO, none of them are opiates.

What I’m about to introduce to you is quite possibly the closest thing to NATURAL Hydrocodone that you will find ANYWHERE.

And you won’t even find it in your local CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, or any other prescription drug store.

That substance is called Kratom, and it will KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF…

First, a bit of a background…

My Brief Opioid Medication History…

closest legal thing to hydrocodoneFirst off, I’ve never had any major injuries (knock on wood) that have caused me to use painkillers on a consistent basis. However, since I’m not too big on flossing my teeth I HAVE had several dental surgeries performed, including several root canals and a tooth pulled.

Each time I was prescribed a pain killer, and each time I took it until there was nothing left in the bottle. The feeling I got from them was exactly what you would expect. They put me in a good mood, help me feel relaxed / pain free, and even give an added kick to any alcohol buzz I was feeling (obviously not recommended, but to each his own).

When the bottle would go empty, there’s a certain sadness that comes about…that little magic pill that could make you feel so good was finally gone. Sure, I wanted more…But, I have PLENTY of friends and family who’s lives have taken a turn for the worse with their prescription painkiller addictions.

I knew EXACTLY what the long term consequences of taking opioid medications consistently were, and never felt the urge to try and “score” some off the street. It’s an expensive habit, causes long term health issues, and ultimately your tolerance gets to a point where you’re taking it “just to feel normal”.

Still, I’m a creature of habit…I’m always looking for products to test out that help me perform better, get bigger muscles, melt fat away, and even help me sleep. So, why not try and search around for something that could make me feel better?? Well, I finally found something that does just that.

How I Met Happiness…The Closest Thing To Prescription Painkillers

When I was researching / testing a substance called Phenibut, I came across a site called Top Extracts who sells a 99.99% pure version at a relatively modest price.

Just as I was about to checkout, I took a look at some of the other products they sold, and that’s when I came across a substance called Kratom…

What is Kratom??

Native to most of Southeast Asia, (Mitragyna speciosa korth) or Kratom is a tropical deciduous and evergreen tree in the coffee family. It behaves as a mu-opioid receptor agonist like morphine, and is used throughout the world to help relive pain, reduce stress, and in some cases produce motivation and increased productivity.

How do I take it?

Kratom generally comes in 2 methods of ingestion, via powder mixed in a liquid or capsules.

kratom capsules vs powder

I prefer the powder version because they tend to produce better effects then those of capsules.

While the capsules are easy to take and transport, there’s just something about them that makes them not work as effective.

I’m not sure what it is, but it seems to hit WAY harder and is WAY more effective when it’s in powder form.

With Kratom powder, all you literally need to do is mix it in your drink of choice and gulp it down. For me, I like to mix it with Gatorade G2 lemon lime flavor, but some guys mix it in milk, water, orange juice, even their morning coffee. (never tried this, so can’t comment)

Because it tastes like a tea (tastes, smells, and even looks like tea), alot of guys make it into a hot tea.

kratom tea

I’ve never been a big fan of hot tea, but if you’re looking for a recipe here’s one that seems to be popular.

What Can I Expect To Feel?

I have to admit, the first few times I tried Kratom I didn’t get much of an effect. There was some noticeable giddiness / happiness, and an overall sense of calm and well being, but nothing revolutionary.

kratom capsules vs hydrocodone and vicodin

I realized, after much trial and error and research, that I was significantly under-dosing. Typically I would only take a 1/4 of a teaspoon full and drink it slowly.

I decided to increase the dose to a full, level teaspoon and drink it slowly over the course of an hour on an empty stomach. The results were TREMENDOUS…

It’s sort of a hard feeling to describe, but the way most Kratom extracts make me feel is a sense of sheer happiness, combined with an overall feeling of being perfectly content in the moment.

I could be watching the most boring TV show imaginable, and find enhanced interest in it.

I also notice a heightened state of awareness, almost a trance-like state of being in meditation. Kratom works perfect to help ease anxiety, produce feelings of euphoria, and can even help with erectile dysfunction from my experience.

However, there are many different varieties of Kratom, all of which produce different effects (more on that later).

Can you overdose on it?

As far as I’m aware, no.

With that said, there has been 15 “kratom related deaths” between 2014 and 2016.

HOWEVER, in practically every single case it was noted that MULTIPLE other substances were involved (such as prescription drugs and alcohol) or the decedent had an undiagnosed medical condition.

So basically it was unclear if Kratom was the actual culprit.

And in all likelihood, it probably wasn’t.

When stacked up against other “Hard drugs” like tobacco, aspirin, and peanuts, the numbers are put in a more delicate context.

is kratom similar to hydrocodone

Is it addictive?

The answer to this one depends on who you ask, but lots of things are addictive.

Coffee can be addictive.

Sex can be addictive.

Even exercise can be addictive.

It’s addictive to be happy, and if something is making you feel happy then you’ll have the urge to keep taking it, right???

If you have an addictive personality (like myself), then it would be responsible for you to approach Kratom use with caution.

This is why I always suggest that you limit your use of Kratom products to just a few times per week, max. With this stuff, the least amount seems to produce the most profound effect, while limiting any tolerance or addiction issues.

Is there a withdrawal?

Just like hydrocodone, oxycodone, vicodin, and oxycontin, yes. There is certainly a withdrawal period after consistent daily use. This all depends on your individual body chemistry, and how often you’re taking it.

I’ve personally experienced what I would consider to be a “withdrawal” from Kratom, just once. I had taken it for about 4 days straight, rotating the various strains, and on the 5th day I decided not to take any.

The feeling was unpleasant, but not unbearable. I felt groggy / tired, and a bit like I was coming down with the flu. For me, this seemed to only last about a day, but of course it can last longer depending on how often / how much you dose.

That said, I have read some horror stories about people withdrawing from Kratom, and it’s not a substance to be taken lightly. If you use it on an occasional basis like I do (couple of times per week max, at low doses) I would say you should have no withdrawal symptoms.

What’s The Legality?

In the United States, these legal vicodin alternatives are available in practically every state.

where is kratom legal

If you’re in the following states, you’re f#$cked (it’s illegal): Rhode Island, Indiana, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Washington D.C., and Vermont.

If you’re in these states, you’re good to go (fully legal): Connecticut, Massachusetts, Delaware, Maryland, South Carolina, Florida (except Sarasota county), Georgia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, New Jersey, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington state, Nevada, California, Alaska, and Hawaii.

If you’re in these states, things are not looking good (legislation is pending): New York, West Virginia, Mississippi.

Where Can I Get It?

There’s dozens of different vendors that sell Kratom, and I’ve had some very good (and very BAD) experiences with many of them. I’ve bought Kratom from:

My personal favorite is a company called Top Extracts Kratom. They are a medium sized vendor that sells practically every variation of Kratom you can think of.

top extracts kratom review
Top Extracts kratom offerings.

Their prices are reasonable, they ship very quickly, and their customer service is great.

Most important, it’s actually the HIGHEST quality / grade Kratom you can buy on the market from my experience.

Their Kratom comes on smooth, doesn’t give you any nasty side effects, and it works GREAT.

Here’s their website: www.TopExtracts.com

What Kind Should I Get?

Well, this is a bit of a tough one…What I found (and what seems to happen with EVERYONE who uses Kratom) is that EACH and EVERY strain seems to work differently in every person. And by that I not only mean the strain, but also the amount that one takes, whether or not it’s on a full or empty stomach, time of day, hydration, etc.

Here’s a snapshot of my personal favorites:

kratom most like vicodin

HOWEVER, there’s A LOT of factors that go into determining which one will affect you in which way. For me, these are what I take for certain situations (again, your experience will likely differ / vary, it will take some experimenting on your part):

1.) Feel Relaxed / Good Mood / Pain Free

top extracts red bali powder

Typically I will get this feeling with Red Vein Bali, Super Green Malay, and White Indo. These are my “lazy” days where I typically will take it to just kick my feet up, throw a movie on, and relax.

They provide a gentle “warming” sensation that literally makes you feel like you took a hydrocodone / vicodin pill.

Generally speaking, and this is with all kratom, the larger the dose the more euphoric the effects. Now that doesn’t mean you should be chugging 20 grams of the stuff.

Think like 4 – 5 grams, which is about 1 level teaspoon (depending on the strain).

Here’s a link to buy the best strain for these effects: www.TopExtracts.com/product/classic-red-bali/

2.) Get Motivated / Productive / Focused

Usually I get a strong effect from Maeng Da, Red Vein Indo, and Red Vein Borneo. They seem to provide me with a consistent focus / motivation to help me get things done.

I usually take these 2 – 3 times a week when I’m a bit behind on schedule, and they never seem to fail me.

Unlike with the slow strains, you want to take as small a dose as possible.

Think like 2 – 3 grams, sometimes even less.

If you end up taking too much you’ll end up getting the sedating effects of Kratom, which is of course the opposite of what you’re shooting for in this case.

Here’s a link to buy the best strain for these effects: www.TopExtracts.com/product/red-maeng-da/

3.) Reduce Anxiety / Increase Social ability / Feel Happy

top extracts white borneo powder

White Vein Borneo. Usually when I mix White Vein Borneo with a stimulant like Caffeine or 1,3, DMAA, I just feel really, really good.

It makes me very social-able and happy, as well as keeping anxiety levels at bay.

It’s kind of like a cross between the slower strains like Super Green Malay, and the faster ones like Maeng Da.

I like to take strains like this when I have chores to do for a couple of hours.

Here’s a link to buy the best strain for these effects: www.TopExtracts.com/product/white-borneo/

Summary / Recommendation

The key thing to remember is practically ALL of the versions of Kratom will produce ALL of the positive feelings listed above. However, each and every person WILL (I can’t stress this enough) respond to different types of Kratom and how much you’re taking.

This is why I recommend buying the beginners starter pack from Top Extracts. It includes a 50 gram sample of Red Vein Maeng Da, Green Vein Malay, and White Vein Bali.

By doing this you’ll be able to see which type works best for you, and in which ways. Here’s a link to their starter pack: www.TopExtracts.com/product/kratom-powder-sample-pack/

They also sell a capsule sample pack, which you can pick up here: www.TopExtracts.com/product/capsule-sample-pack/

Personally speaking, I prefer the powders over the capsules, as it seems to hit harder and faster.

With that said, you can’t beat the convenience of capsules!

I ALWAYS recommend you start off with a very low dose (1 – 3 grams TOPS) to assess how you feel before moving on to bigger doses.

If you’re looking for a healthy, all-natural alternative to prescription medications like Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, even Morphine, then Kratom might be worth your while. It’s relatively inexpensive, legal (as of now), and will help you lead a happier, more fulfilling life.

That said, you know your body and you know your limits. I would never recommend anything that I haven’t personally taken, including Kratom. But use it responsibly and you should start feeling great in no time.

Cellucor Alpha Amino ReviewCellucor Alpha Amino Ingredients and How They Work

Cellucor Alpha Amino is sugar free so it has that advantage over traditional sports drinks, but it doesn’t skimp on hydration.

There’s L-Leucine, Leucine Nitrate, and Leucine Peptides, all working to build and preserve your hard earned muscle mass.

The recommended dose is one scoop mixed in 8-12 ounces of water or other cold beverage.

They don’t make a specific recommendation of exactly when to use it, but they caution you against taking more than 4 servings in a day.

HIT Igniter Extreme Review – Does It Work?

HIT Igniter Extreme Overview

HIT Igniter Extreme comes on strong with its promises of taking your workouts to heights you never thought possible, but does it deliver? It’s easy to hype up your product. Lots of companies do.

It’s much harder to actually pull it off. Most companies don’t.

We’ve heard some good things about HIT Igniter Extreme, so we decided to take a look.

HIT Igniter Extreme uses stimulants, vitamins, nitric oxide boosters, and amino acid boosters to amp up your workout.

It feeds your muscles with what they need to perform at their peak, in this workout and every workout.

So much so, that the promise is you won’t just reach your goals, you’ll surpass them.

HIT Igniter Extreme ReviewHIT Igniter Extreme Ingredients and How They Work

The HIT Igniter Extreme formula starts off with a B Vitamin Complex for energy.

These include Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin B5.

Then we get to the core of the formula, which includes:

  • Creatine. At 5.5 grams per serving, there’s enough to make an impact.

A lot of pre workouts list creatine in their formula, but the amount isn’t anywhere near enough to be more than a blip on the radar. 5.5 grams daily is a decent maintenance dose, so it should be effective for increasing muscle power for better lifts.
  • Beta Alanine for musle endurance.

By reducing the buildup of lactic acid, Beta Alanine allows you to go longer and harder before your muscles give out.
  • Agmatine Sulfate which helps improve the effectiveness of Beta Alanine.
  • Citrulline Malate which increases nitric oxide for better pumps.
  • Betaine for increased protein synthesis.
  • N-Methyl Tyramine Hydrohloride for a euphoric energy feeling, allowing you to think clearer and faster without a jittery feeling.
  • Caffeine for energy and focus.
  • Theobromine for additional energy.

Instructions are to add a single scoop to 4-8 ounces of water and drink about 30-45 minutes before working out.

If you need more of an edge, you can use up to 2 scoops per serving.

HIT Igniter Extreme Pros and Cons

Advantages of HIT Igniter Extreme

  • The formula is well-rounded and complete.
  • There are tons of positive HIT Igniter Extreme reviews from customers who’ve used it.
  • People like the flavor.
  • It’s reasonably priced.

Disadvantages of HIT Igniter Extreme

  • Some reviewers aren’t feeling it.

We didn’t find anyone with negative side effects, but did find a few with no results whatsoever.
  • At 300 mg per serving, it’s got a lot of caffeine, maybe too much for some.

Where to Buy

You can purchase HIT Igniter Extreme online through HIT directly or Bodybuilding.com.

The 30 serving tub sells for $35.69, though I saw it for less at Amazon.com

Conclusion

The positive reviews alone seem to sell this stuff.I like that it contains so much creatine.

And the reasonable price tag doesn’t hurt either.

Go ahead and give HIT Igniter Extreme a try.

Just be ready for a caffeine buzz.

G6 Sports Pre Flight Review – Does It Work?

G6 Sports Pre Flight Overview

When you first start looking for workout supplements, the first thing you usually come across is a pre workout product.

That’s because it’s pretty much where it all begins.

The funny thing is years later, you’re probably still looking for that perfect pre workout. That happens for any number of reasons. Your body changes. You develop tolerances. Your needs change. You discover new things.

New findings lead to new and improved formulas.

Whatever our reasons, our search for the perfect pre workout goes on.

And the one we’re looking out today is called G6 Sports Pre Flight.

G6 Sports Pre Flight is from G6 Sports Nutrition.

It comes in a powder to be mixed with water and taken about 30-45 minutes prior to your workout.

The idea is that it sends you and your workout soaring to heights you’ve never reached before.

It combines energy and strength components in an effort to propel you forward.

G6 Sports Pre Flight ReviewG6 Sports Pre Flight Ingredients and how They Work

The G6 Sports Pre Flight formula contains a lot of the usual suspects when it comes to pre workout ingredients, like:

  • Beta Alanine for increased muscle endurance.

It reduces the buildup of lactic acid in your muscles, which is what causes them to feel fatigued and make you think you just can’t push anymore.
  • Arginine AKG for increased nitric oxide leading to increased muscle pumps and energy.
  • Creatine to increase the power of you muscles so they can push harder.
  • Caffeine for energy and focus.

Then there are some less common, though not unheard of, components like:

  • Agmatine Sulfate which supports both creatine and protein synthesis in your body.
  • L-Histidine which increases the effectiveness of Beta Alanine.
  • Vanadyl Sulfate which improves athletic performance by enhancing the work of insulin.
  • Choline Bitartrate which can be used to delay fatigue while working out.
  • Pikamilon which increases focus and improves concentration.

The recommended dose is one scoop mixed with 8-10 ounces of water.

G6 Sports Pre Flight Pros and Cons

Advantages of G6 Sports Pre Flight

  • It contains a wide range of ingredients that address all the different components you’d want in a pre workout supplement.
  • The formula contains solid ingredients that we know work in pre workouts as well as more innovative ones.

Disadvantages of G6 Sports Pre Flight

  • There have been no clinical studies performed on it.
  • There are no G6 Sports Pre Flight reviews from customers available online.
  • It’s expensive.

Where to Buy

You can purchase G6 Sports Pre Flight online through the G6 Sports Nutrition website as well as Amazon.com.

Either way, a 30 serving tub sells for about $65-$70. it’s also available at GNC for about the same price.

Yeah, I know, that is pretty steep for a pre workout formula compared to others that you would find at GNC.

Conclusion

G6 Sports Pre Flightis a decent formula, but without clinical testing or positive customer feedback, it’s hard to justify spending $70 on a pre workout.

It is double the price of many similar pre workout formulas that seem to do the trick much better than G6 Sports Pre Flight.

Muscle Repair Replenishment Matrix Review

Muscle Repair Replenishment Matrix Overview

Post workout recovery is crucial for getting in the best shape possible, especially when you’re in a bulking cycle.

When you work out hard, you break down your muscle fibers.

Immediately after that is when the rebuilding process begins, and if you want your best growth, you need to arm yourself with the best nutritional aids you can find.

And that means protein, and more specifically BCAAs.

Muscle Repair Replenishment Matrix is a choice from Mike Chang’s SixPack Shortcuts line of supplements, and it’s the one we’re looking at today.

Mike Chang sprang to popularity with his SixPack Shortcuts and Abs After 40 workouts, and he soon branched out into the supplement game. Muscle Repair Replenishment Matrix, taken immediately after your workout provides calories, protein, BCAAs and other nutrients essential to repair.

So instead of wasting your efforts, you ‘ll be maximizing them.

Muscle Repair Replenishment MatrixMuscle Repair Replenishment Matrix Ingredients and How They Work

Muscle Repair Replenishment Matrix is mainly designed for someone in a bulking phase, as there are over 200 calories per serving.

Of course, if you burn a ton of calories, you can use Muscle Repair Replenishment Matrix and still lose weight.

Within that 200 calories, you ‘ll get:

  • 18 grams of whey protein
  • 30 grams of carbohyrates.
  • BCAA’s including L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, L-Glutamine, and L-Taurine
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin B6
  • Potassium
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid

The recommended dose is 1 scoop mixed with water and taken immediately following your workout.

That way, the precise nutrients you need are there precisely when you need them.

The results should be less soreness and better growth.

Muscle Repair Replenishment Matrix Pros and Cons

Advantages of Muscle Repair Replenishment Matrix

  • It contains a full 18 grams of protein as well as BCAAs for complete recovery.
  • It replenishes carbs post workout.
  • Muscle Repair Replenishment Matrix reviews all say the flavor is pretty good.
  • There’s a money back guarantee.

Disadvantages of Muscle Repair Replenishment Matrix

  • It’s expensive.
  • It contains 200 calories, so it may not be the best choice if you’re cutting.

Where to Buy

You can purchase Muscle Repair Replenishment Matrixthrough one of Mike Chang’s websites.

For some reason, there are several different ones.

Unlike some of his other products, it doesn’t look like buying this one will set you up for automatic payments, but it does cost $67 plus shipping. There is a money back guarantee for this product.

And you can also buy it through Amazon.com for the same price if you prefer.

Conclusion

Muscle Repair Replenishment Matrix looks like a decent post workout drink, but we have one significant reservation about recommending it. It’s very expensive.

It costs $67 plus shipping, and it only comes with 20 servings in a tub.You can find something very comparable for a lot less money.

And that’s what I’d recommend you do.

SixPack Sleep Review – Does It Work?

SixPack Sleep Overview

One of most important things you can do to get in shape, whether you want to lose weight or pack on the muscle mass, is sleep.

Getting enough sleep allows your body to recover and recharge.

You body detoxifies while you sleep, and your muscle build and repair when you sleep.

That’s the concept that drove Mike Chang’s group (makers of Six Pack Shortcuts and Abs After 40) when they created SixPack Sleep, the first sleep formula designed for athletes and fitness minded people to naturally enhance the building and retention of lean muscle.

It’s a great concept, but is it backed up by results?

We took a look at the formula and the feedback, and the answer is a definite, “maybe not”.

Read on for the details.

SixPack Sleep ReviewSixPack Sleep Ingredients and How They Work

SixPack Sleep helps you fall into a deep and restful sleep, and while you’re in that state, it encourages an increase in the natural production of both HGH (human growth hormone) and testosterone, both extremely important if you want to be strong and fit.

The formula contains 4 main ingredients:

  • GABA (aka Gamma-Aminobutyri Acid) is an important neurotransmitter in your brain that helps you get into a restful state.
  • Zinc and Magnesium which are essential for the body’s hormone production processes.
  • Valerian Root Extract which is commonly used in herbal sleep aids.

It reduces anxiety and increases relaxation.

It is thought to reduce the amount of time it takes you to fall asleep.
  • Melatonin is another ingredient commonly used in sleep aids.

It helps you fall into a deep and restful sleep, and it may play a role in the regulation of human growth hormone.

These are all thought to be safe and to some degree effective, but how much of each is in a serving is not information they provide, which makes it hard to tell by looking at the formula whether or not it will be effective.

SixPack Sleep Reviews

That’s why we look at customer reviews whenever we can find them.

Since SixPack Sleep is available on Amazon, we found several there, and they’re not very favorable.

More than just a few customers found it to be completely ineffective:

Gohawks said, “Gave me insomnia.

And since sleep is important to weight loss, I actually gained weight.”

Samo said, “Piece of crap.

Does Not Work.”

Though there are some customers having better luck:

One customer states: “I hasn’t given me sixpack abs yet, but it’s helping sleep.”

SixPack Sleep Pros and Cons

Advantages of SixPack Sleep

  • The ingredients are all natural and not likely to cause side effects.

Disadvantages of SixPack Sleep

  • There are several pretty negative SixPack Sleep reviews from customers.
  • You might accidentally sign up for monthly charges if you’re not careful.

Where to Buy

You can pick SixPack Sleep at Amazon, but it’s primary point of purchase is one of Mike Chang’s websites.

A bottle contains a one month supply and costs $67 plus $14.95 shipping and handling. If you choose to buy this way, you’ll need to sign up for automatic shipments every 30 days at that same price.

It’ a lot like those free trial scams we come across so much, but there’s no free trial.

If you like SixPack Sleep, it’s not a bad thing, but it is expensive, especially if you take other supplements on top of this one.

Otherwise, you can buy it at Amazon as a one time purchase with no obligation.

The price is also $67.

Conclusion

From the formula, SixPack Sleep looks like a decent herbal sleep aid, but there are a few downsides to c First of all, it’s very expensive.

You can find something that does just as well getting you to sleep for a whole lot cheaper.

Secondly, the reviews just don’t indicate that SixPack Sleep is all that effective.

I’d go with something else if I were you.

While they make a whole line of supplements, including stacks for different purposes, their flagship products are their fat burners, and the one we’re looking at today is simply called Shredz Burner.

Shredz Burner promises to help you reach your cutting goals like nothing you’ve every experienced before.

You’ll be energized for your workouts, and you’re body will be burning fat whether you’re working out or at rest.

And it’s strong enough that you only need to take 2 capsules a day, which is good because a lot of fat burners have you taking like 4 horse pills at a time several times a day.

Shredz Burner ReviewShredz Burner Ingredients and How They Work

Of course, the important thing is what’s in Shredz Burner formula, which includes:

  • Choline which is known to be a powerful fat burner, increasing your metabolic rate as well as a cognitive enhancer.
  • Vitamin B5 for energy.
  • Caffeine to stimulate energy and fat burner as well as increasing concentration.
  • Theobromine which is a mild stimulant that increases insulin sensitivity.

  • Green Tea Catechins which burn fat.
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid which is an antioxidant to fight against the damage caused by free radicals.
  • Acetyl L-Carnitine which improves blood flow.
  • Yohimbe which is a powerful stimulant.

You should be aware that some people suffer mild to serious side effects with Yohimbe, especially anyone with blood pressure issues.
  • Dendrobium which is thought to be the next ephedrine
  • Higenamine HCL which is yet another stimulant.
  • Synephrine which is a stimulant also known as Citrus Aurantium or Bitter Orange.

It may cause side effects when used with caffeine.

The international version of Shredz Burner leaves out the Yohimbe because it’s banned in several countries.

Shredz Burner Pros and Cons

  • It’s easily available.
  • It has an international formula so you can get it all over the world.
  • You only have to take 2 capsules a day.

Disadvantages of Shredz Burner

  • It’s got a crapload of stimulants in the formula, and some of them have proven to be potentially unsafe.

The cost of a 60 count bottle (one month supply) is about $50.

Also stay away from additional stimulants while you’re taking it.

Shredz Testosterone Review – Does It Work?

Shredz Testosterone Overview

Some of us use testosterone boosters to help increase lean muscle mass and decrease fat deposits.

Others of us use testosterone boosters to improve erections and overall sexual performance.

That’s the great thing about increasing testosterone – multiple benefits in one product.

This doesn’t stop most testosterone boosting supplements from focusing just on one aspect or the other.

It helps with marketing, making them able to target one specific audience.

But Shredz thinks differently about their product,Shredz Testosterone.

They market it to people who want to build muscle as much as those who want the sexual benefits.

And since it’s part of a broader line of supplements, this might be a good choice.

Shredz Testosterone promises to work with your body to enhance your lifestyle with an increase in your natural testosterone.

One of their selling points is that they don’t use the same old tired testosterone boosting ingredients you’re used to.

They use a newer, more progressive formula that beats the competition hands down.

Shredz Testosterone ReviewShredz Testosterone Ingredients and How They Work

We’ve seen what Shredz Testosterone says about their formula, Now let’s have a look ourselves to see if it can truly deliver like they say. The ingredient list is very brief.

There’s:

  • Zinc which is used to facilitate the body’s natural testosterone production process.

Studies have shown a positive correlation between zinc and testosterone levels.
  • Anacyclus Pyrethrum which I have to admit I wasn’t familiar with before checking out Shredz Testosterone.

It’s an herb used as an aphrodisiac in Ayurvedic medicine.

It’s currently being studied for its potential to increase testosterone. It’s truly cutting edge.

The science isn’t in yet, but it may turn out to be an important testosterone booster.
  • Eurycoma Longifolia which is used in lots of testosterone boosters.

It helps to free up testosterone that would otherwise be bound with Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG).
  • Fenugreek which has long been believed to increase testosterone naturally.
  • Maca Root which is primarily an aphrodisiac, but is also believed to play a role in increasing testosterone.
  • Velvet Bean Extract (aka Mucuna Pruriens) which is also an aphrodisiac that may work by increasing testosterone.

The recommended dose is 1 Shredz Testosterone capsule taken 3 times daily.

Shredz Testosterone Pros and Cons

Advantages of Shredz Testosterone

  • The ingredients are all natural.
  • There are lots of favorable Shredz Testosterone reviews from customers.

In fact, the majority of reviews on Amazon.com are positive.
  • It’s easily available.

Disadvantages of Shredz Testosterone

  • It’s expensive.
  • The formula may focus more on sexual performance components than actually boosting testosterone.

Where to Buy

You can purchase Shredz Testosteronethrough the Shredz website or other retailers like Amazon.com.

If you prefer, you can also pick it up at your local GNC.

The one month supply of 90 capsules sells for $75 at GNC, but Amazon will sell you 2 months for $118.

Conclusion

The Shredz Testosterone reviews from customers make me think you might get some good results on both the bodybuilding and sexual side of things. But even so, I’m not sure the cost is fully justified.

Natural Max Garcinia Review

Natural Max Garcinia Overview

I’ve been hearing a lot lately about Garcinia Cambogia for weight loss.

It first came to prominence a few years back when Dr. Oz touted it as the greatest thing to happen to weight loss since the treadmill.

Back then, it seemed clear that it would be a passing trend for a while before everyone moved on.

But I have to admit, this stuff has some staying power.

New garcinia supplements are still coming out all the time, so maybe there’s something to it after all.

One that I came across recently is called Natural Max Garcinia.

  • Natural Max Garcinia promises to help you lose weight in all the ways garcinia cambogia is believed to help:
  • It helps block the conversion of food to fat.
  • It suppresses appetite.
  • It help lower cortisol, the stress hormone, that can cause your body to hold onto fat.

It encourages the release of increased serotonin.

With more of this feel-good brain chemical flowing through your body, you’re less prone to emotional eating.

That’s a pretty impressive list, and it’s why garcinia supplements have remained as popular as they have.

But what’s in Natural Max Garcinia that makes it work so well.

Natural Max Garcinia ReviewNatural Max Garcinia Ingredients and How They Work

The primary active ingredient in Natural Max Garcinia is the HCA extracted from the garcinia cambogia fruit.

HCA stands for Hydroxycitric Acid, and it’s the powerhouse of the formula.

What HCA does is inhibit the enzyme (Citrate Lyase) that causes the conversion of carbohydrates to fat.

Without that conversion process, instead of being stored as fat, calories are used for energy.

The multifaceted result of that is increased energy, decreased appetite, and a decrease in stored fat on your body.

Natural Max Garcinia uses the recommended 60% concentration of HCA at 800 mg in each dose.

The rest of the ingredients in the Natural Max Garcinia formula are said to be all natural, but unfortunately what they are exactly isn’t revealed online.

Natural Max Garcinia Pros and Cons

Advantages of Natural Max Garcinia

  • The ingredients are all natural
  • It uses the recommended 60% HCA concentration.

Disadvantages of Natural Max Garcinia

  • Like a lot of garcinia supplements, Natural Max Garcinia is only available online through a “free trial” offer, which is anything but free.
  • It may not even be available that way currently.
  • It promises that you can lose weight without changing your diet or exercise routine, but that’s basically impossible, and certainly unsustainable.

Where to Buy

As we mentioned earlier, Natural Max Garcinia is sold as a “free trial” offer online. You start off at what appears to be an unbiased review.

But after reading about the amazing benefits, a banner appears that supposedly takes you to a website that offers Natural Max Garcinia for free.

How it really works is that you sign up by paying a small shipping fee.

In the fine print, it states that by signing up, you’re also signing up for their automatic monthly shipping plan.

If you don’t call and cancel withing 14 days from the day you placed your order, you’ll be charged full price for the “free” trial bottle, and you’ll receive a new bottle each month for that same price.

All this is spelled out in the terms and conditions, but you’ve usually got to look pretty hard to find them, and most people miss them.

At this time, however, when you try to click through to buy Natural Max Garcinia, it takes you to the free trial page of a different garcinia supplement, making it pretty clear that these supplements are pretty much interchangeable with each other.

Conclusion

Garcinia is popular, but the research doesn’t support its benefits, at least not the kind of benefits they advertise.

Even if you do want to try it, I wouldn’t advise you to put to much faith into Natural Max Garcinia, when even the manufacturer doesn’t distinguish between it and its competition.

Slimera Review – Should You Use It?

Slimera Overview

We’ve all heard about Garcinia Cambogia.

It’s that magic weight loss fruit Dr. Oz talked so much about a few years back.

Since then, even though Dr. Oz recommendations have fallen out of favor for the most part, garcinia cambogia continues to be a very popular product. Maybe that means this stuff works.

The clinical evidence isn’t in at this point, but the fact that it remains popular after most fads would have dried up makes you wonder if maybe there’s something to it.

I bring it up because we’re going to talk about Slimera today.

It’s one of a handful of garcinia supplements that’s been popping up on my radar a lot lately.

Slimera makes all the common claims of garcinia supplements.

It:

  • Blocks carbohydrates from turning into fats, converting them to energy used by the body instead.
  • Increases the secretion of Serotonin, the feel good brain chemical.

More serotonin can help curb emotional eating.
  • Inhibits the formation of new fat cells around the belly.
  • Reduces cortisol levels.

Cortisol is the stress hormone that causes your body to react to stress in unhealthy ways.

Increased cortisol decreases metabolism and encourages your body to hold on to its fat.

Slimera ReviewSlimera Ingredients and How They Work

The active ingredient in Slimerais the HCA that’s extracted from the garcinia cambogia rind.

HCA is Hydroxycitric Acid, and it’s responsible for all the benefits listed above.

There has been some clinical testing, but the truth is they haven’t been conclusive.

There is no hard evidence that HCA leads to fat loss or weight loss.

Despite the lack of evidence that HCA works, there is a protocol for its use.

The recommended concentration is 60%, but the concentration used in Slimera is only 50%.

They also usually recommend a dose of 800-1000 mg per day, but we were unable to determine the dosage in Slimera.

Where to Buy Slimera

The only way to purchase Slimera is through their online free trial offer.

It’s a very common way for supplements to be sold online, but if you go with one, you need to make sure you understand the terms.

Basically, you sign up for a free trial by paying $4.97 for shipping. They send you a full one month supply of Slimera.

You have 14 days from the day you order to decide if you want to keep using it.

If you do nothing, they charge you the full price of $84.97 and sign you up to receive a new bottle at that same price every month. If you don’t want to sign up, you need to make sure to call them, before the 14 day trial period is up. Believe it or not, it’s legal.

But it’s sneaky for sure, and a lot of people get caught in these scams.

Slimera Pros and Cons

Advantages of Slimera

  • The ingredients are said to be all natural.

Disadvantages of Slimera

  • The ingredients are not fully disclosed.
  • The concentration of HCA may be too low.
  • It’s only available through the free trial scam, and it’s very expensive in the end.

Conclusion

Garcinia Cambogia may be a helpful component to your weight loss efforts.

The science hasn’t determined that yet.

But if you’re interested in trying it, there are far cheaper and potentially more effective products to use.

Don’t bother with Slimera.

Brainfinity Review – Should You Try It?

Brainfinity Overview

If you take a quick visit to the Brainfinity website, you’ll be met with some pretty enticing copy about how much smarter, quicker, energetic, and motivated you can be.

They make it sound pretty amazing actually.

This stuff will have you:

  • Tapping into your inner genius with fits of crystal clear clarity.
  • Speaking intelligently about everything you’ve read or heard.
  • Sparking intuitive conclusions right and left.
  • Feeling and sensing everything more deeply and connectedly.

It definitely sounds too good to be true, but is it? Probably. At least to that extent.

But there are supplements, called nootropics, that can enhance your brain function, make you more alert and aware, and allow you to concentrate on and remember things better.

Let’s take a look at the Brainfinity formula to see if its ingredients make this at all possible.

Brainfinity Ingredients and How They Work

The easiest way to understand the Brainfinity formula is to break it down by function.

For the sake of optimal clarity, we’ll use 4 major categories:

  • To Enhance Alertness, there’s Caffeine, Green Tea Extract, Niacin, and Vinpocetine.

Caffeine is a stimulant, Green Tea is an anitoxidant, Niacin improves blood flow and circulation, and Vinpocetine increases the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
  • To Stimulate Nerve Cells, there’s Nettle Leaf and Glucoronolactone which both increase the flow of blood to the brain and stimulate nerve cells and synapses.
  • To Improve Focus and Cognitive Function, Synephrine Caprylate reduces free radical damage to the neurotransmitters of the brain which helps them work at a higher level.
  • To Enhance Mood, Phenethylamine HCL, Yohimbine, and Microencapsulated Caffeine stimulate and calm at the same time, while keeping you from feeling jittery or on edge.

brainfinity reviewsBrainfinity, unlike a lot of its counterparts, lists all of the ingredients and their amounts on their website. This is important for several reasons.

It gives you an idea of whether or not the ingredients are present in sufficient amounts.

It also allows you to take a look at ingredients and adjust your dose if you’re experiencing side effects or not enough benefit.

Click Here to see a picture of the label.

Brainfinity Pros and Cons

Advantages of Brainfinity

  • The ingredients are all natural and all listed on the website.
  • It’s cheaper than a lot of other nootropic supplements.
  • There’s a 90 day money back guarantee.

Disadvantages of Brainfinity

  • It’s very new and so is the manufacturer (Execucore LLC) so little is known about either.
  • Because it’s new, there are pretty much no customer reviews to help us know how it’s working in the real world.
  • The promises are over-the-top which could damage their credibility.

Where to Buy

The only way to buy Brainfinity is through their official website.

A one month supply costs $37.95 at this time, but they state the list price is $67.95, so the low price may just be a special promotion. You’ll also save a little if you buy more than one bottle at a time. 2 go for $62.95, and you’ll pay $83.95 for three. The website mentions a 90 day money back guarantee, but it doesn’t specify the terms.

Conclusion

Brainfinity is new on the market so it’s tough to get a solid read on it, but I do have a few initial impressions.

They set up a complete and informative website, along with a very active social media presence, so as far as the business end of things go, they know what they’re doing.

They also put a comparatively very low price on it, to entice people in.

The formula looks pretty good, but I wouldn’t say they’ve knocked it out of the park.

But given the price and the guarantee, I’d say Brainfinity is worth a shot.

Recommendation

I’m not someone who typically suffers from anxiety or insomnia, but like most folks I have my good and bad days. Up until recently, if I had a hard time falling asleep or felt anxious, I would simply write it off and deal with it.

However, in the interest of helping my readers find something that can help in this area, I decided to do a bit of research. During my research, I came across a supplement called Kavinace, which is the focus of this review.

Watch Our Video Review Or Scroll Down To Read More

What is Kavinace?

kavinace review

Kavinace is an all natural supplement designed to help promote relief from anxiety / irritability, as well as help people suffering from insomnia and sleep issues. It’s marketed by a company called Neuroscience, and is sold almost exclusively online.

Its primary ingredient is 4-amino-3-phenylbutyric acid (also known as Phenibut), which is a GABA derivative that acts to inhibit excitatory transmitters in the brain. The theory is that it allows GABA to cross the blood brain barrier by adding a phenyl ring around it. (Source)

Typically GABA cannot do this on it’s own, at least in sufficient quantities.

Other ingredients in Kavinace include taurine, which is a potent antioxidant that products against toxicity from various substances, and Vitamin B6.

Frequently Asked Questions About Kavinace

How Should I Take Kavinace

According to the label, you should take 1-2 capsules two times daily, and you should not exceed 6 capsules per day. While the manufacturer recommends daily dosing, this it not a good idea.

You will learn exactly why below.

How Long Does Kavinace Take To Work?

I also don’t think you should take more then 1 or 2 capsules TOTAL throughout the day. Phenibut has a way of creeping up on you when you least expect it.

You could be feeling practically nothing and then 1/2 hr. later feel all the effects at once.

phenibut effects timeline

One thing I also noticed is the effects are MUCH more pronounced when you take it on a completely empty stomach.

I’m not sure as to why this is the case, but my theory is that the ingredients are simply absorbed faster / more efficiently when there’s nothing else your stomach has to work on.

What kind of feeling should I expect from taking Kavinace?

While everyone’s body chemistry / makeup is different, the general consensus among most is that it provides a feeling of relief from anxiety, makes you less irritable, and can help you sleep better.

One thing I want to note is that it seems to take a VERY long time to feel the effects, in some cases close to 5 or 6 hours.

I have no idea why it takes that long but that’s the effect I got from it.

Can I Take Kavinace With Alcohol?

This is NOT recommended.

The primary ingredient in Kavinace (Phenibut), increases the effects of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA in the brain.

This is exactly the same way that alcohol works, and drinking any alcohol whatsoever will simply intensify the effect.

There are all sorts of adverse reactions that can occur if you combine kavinace and alcohol, including:

  • Nausea / Vomiting
  • Extreme drowsiness / sedation
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Potential respiratory depression

If you don’t believe me, read this.

It’s also not recommended that you drive while taking this supplement until you can assess your individual tolerance.

Can I buy it in stores?

The answer is yes and no.

You can’t find Kavinace in large brick and mortar stores like GNC, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, or Vitamin Shoppe. Amazon doesn’t seem to sell it either, and the primary ingredient (phenibut) has been placed on their known prohibited products list.

However, there are many smaller, locally-owned vitamin stores that sell it. I would run a quick search for something like “supplements store near me” and call around to a few local shops.

My Personal Results

I had a chance to try out Kavinace, and I have to say that I think it is a VERY potent supplement. Because I’ve taken products containing phenibut in the past, including Phenibut XT, Somatomax, and Tranquilene, I had an idea of what to expect as far as results.

The first time I took it was in the morning on a particularly stressful day at work. It took awhile to kick in, but the effect was there. I felt an increase in mood and just generally had a positive outlook on the day ahead. Things that would normally stress me out didn’t.

Later that day I took 1 more capsule about 2 hours before bed, and felt very relaxed while I watched TV. It’s a bit hard to describe, but it’s almost like feeling the buzz you get from drinking a couple of beers or glasses of wine, but without the mind-slowing effects.

That night I had a GREATnights sleep. Usually I’ll wake up once or twice throughout the night to use the bathroom, but not this night. I slept straight through and woke up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day.

What’s interesting about Kavinace (and supplements containing Phenibut in general) is that the effects seem to linger for most of the following day, even without re dosing.

This is sometimes referred to as an “afterglow” effect.

Kavinace Warnings

So a quick story is in order to let you know how I originally learned about Kavinace. I had been experimenting with a substance called Phenibut over the course of a few months, and everything was working great. The substance gave me a calm, relaxed feeling, but didn’t leave me drowsy during the day.

Combined with a stimulant like Optimind, Phenibut gave me intense concentration and focus, but kept me level-headed and cool. It essentially eliminated any of the anxiety inducing effects of the stimulant, allowing me to work for hours on end.

It even actually worked as a fairly potent pre-workout supplement. Often I would take it about 2 – 3 hours before my workouts, and found that I not only was working out harder, but I seemed to be more focused.

Potential Addiction Issues

Then, I started reading stories on forums and addiction treatment centers about the potential for addiction and withdrawal symptoms from prolonged use of Phenibut.

If you’ve been taking Kavinace for a prolonged period of time, some signs of an addiction may include:

  • Increased Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Paranoia
  • Aggression / Irritability
  • Insomnia
  • Cognitive deficit
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue

Uh ohhh…Anyway, after ceasing use of Phenibut and going through a short (but unpleasant) withdrawal period, I started to miss the effects that Phenibut was producing.

In my quest to find something that would work similar to Phenibut, but without the withdrawal dependency aspect, I visited a local mom and pop vitamin store.

When I entered the store I was greeted by the owner, and I asked her if she ever heard of Phenibut.

Her reply??

Oh no, I don’t mess with that stuff. Too many issues, I’ve read too many horror stories about withdrawal / dependency, etc.

I then told her I was looking for something to help relieve anxiety, help me sleep, etc., and she recommended Kavinace.

She said she takes it twice a day, 1 capsule in the morning and 1 in the evening, and has been for years.

I asked her if she ever experienced any side effects or withdrawal symptoms from abstaining from it. She told me that she’s only taken a few days off from it ever since she started taking it, and only noticed minimal withdrawal symptoms like being pissed off in traffic.

I bought a bottle and when I got home researched the ingredients (at the time I didn’t know Phenibut was called 4-amino-3-phenybutric acid), and wouldn’t you know it….4-amino-3-phenybutric acid is Phenibut.

I thought about calling her up and telling her that what she was taking is essentially Phenibut, but she seemed “out there” to begin with so I didn’t bother.

The dangers of taking Phenibut long term are there. I talk about this in detail in my official review of Phenibut, so I won’t touch on it here.

Pros

  • Works well to help relieve stress / anxiety
  • Can be conveniently bought online and in stores
  • Excellent for sleep
  • Can also provide nootropic clarity and concentration in small doses

Cons

  • Shouldn’t take it everyday, despite them telling you otherwise
  • Unknown exactly how much Phenibut it contains
  • Only available in small, local mom and pop vitamin stores

Recommendation

Does Kavinace work? I can say with a resounding YES. HOWEVER, taking Phenibut (or Kavinace) daily is a REALLY bad idea.

Not only does it have the potential to create REALLY bad withdrawal symptoms when you stop taking it, but Phenibut seems to build a tolerance very quickly.

Long term use should be avoided, but if you are looking to use it for just a short period of time then there is no reason that taking Kavinace should produce any negative effects unless you are particularly sensitive to it.

You’ll find you need more and more of the stuff to get the same intended effect, which is never a good thing for a supplement. If you do decide to use it, I would suggest you use it either sparingly (1 – 2 times per week), or not at all.

MaxGXL Sport Review – Should You Try It?

MaxGXL Sport Overview

MaxGXL Sport is an anti-aging supplement based on the notion that your body needs to make up for the lessening production of glutathione as you age.

Glutathione is an extremely important antioxidant produced in the body that fights against cell damage, keeps your immune system functioning at high levels, and has various anti-aging benefits as well.

MaxGXL Sport is a supplement made by Max International that increases your body’s natural production of Glutathione, with the expected result of making you feel years, even decades, younger.

MaxGXL Sport is an offshoot of the original product, MaxGXL.

They are virtually identical except that MaxGXL Sport comes in Vegetarian capsules and is packaged in a bottle.

The reason for this is that MaxGXL Sport has been tested and approved b the NSF with a “Sport Certification”.

The NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) test products in accordance with strict guidelines for health and safety.

The fact that MaxGXL Sport has received its Sports Certification means that it has been approved and is certified not to contain banned substances.

MaxGXL Sport ReviewMaxGXL Sport Benefits

MaxGXL Sport Pros and Cons

  • It’s been clinically tested.

Disadvantages of MaxGXL Sport

  • Although it has additional availability, it is primarily sold through a multilevel marketing program where they encourage customers to become reps and recruit other customers to be in their stable of reps as well.
  • It’s expensive.
  • Most of the information we found on MaxGXL Sport is about how to become a rep for the company, as opposed to how the product actually works.

Where to Buy

As I mentioned, MaxGXL Sportis available through this program of reps and reps or reps.

But you can also pick it up at Amazon.com these days.

It looks like the least you can buy from the Max International website is 2 bottles for $130. They call it the starter kit.On Amazon.com, you can pick up one bottle for $64.99.

Conclusion

I wouldn’t be surprised if taking MaxGXL Sport makes you feel good. But $64.99 is a lot of money, and if you go directly through the company, you’ll no doubt have to sit through the hard sell about why you should be selling MaxGXL Sport yourself.

The Real Limitless Pill? – Fat Chance!!

“The Real Limitless Pill!”…

“Controversial ‘Limitless Pill’ Used By The 1%”

“Celebrities Using Secret “Smart Pills” To Get Ahead”

I see these headlines screaming at me day after day on social media and random news sites, and they just keep on coming. If you’ve seen the movie “Limitless” starring Bradley Cooper, then you probably know what I’m talking about. The pill is called NZT 48, and in the movie Bradley Cooper uses it to achieve fame and fortune, and also screw over Robert Deniro in the process.

If you don’t remember the movie I’m talking about, maybe this “fake ad” will explain a little bit more of what the Limitless Movie was all about.

Basically, the main character in the movie was played by Bradley Cooper, who stumbles upon a drug that makes him.

Well, limitless.

real limitless pillHe writes a book in like 3 days, conquers Wall Street, learns 6 languages, and masters the art of kung fu.

All from one little clear pill.

I mean really, how cool would that be?

There’s a few prescription medications out there that have attempted to define themselves as smart pills, including Adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin, and Modafinil.

Related Article:Afinil Express Review – Legit Modafinil w/o A Prescription

They do work wonderfully, but not without a wide range of side effects and potential for addiction that keep a lot of people from crossing that bridge.

But, let’s imagine for a second that there was a real “Limitless Pill” that was an all natural supplement. One that could help you achieve mind blowing focus / concentration, motivation, and drastically increase your short and long term memory.

A REAL over the counter adderall equivalent.

Would you take it?

You probably would, and there’s certainly no shortage of companies hawking supplements to us claiming that they are the “real deal” limitless drug.

However, these headlines cover up a dark and sinister underground world of deceit, those of which involve fake celebrity endorsements, fake articles (farticles), and a very deliberate and methodical attempt of separating thousands of hard working Americans from their money.

Over the course of the last 6 months or so we’ve seen literally DOZENS of this ads, and each one has a different pill they are slinging. The purpose of this article is to EXPOSE these fake products for what they REALLY are, and to help you save you time, money, and a lot of hassle.

Products Claiming They Are The Real “Limitless Pill”…

Addium

We posted a review of Addium back in January of this year, and the reviews (mostly negative) started to pour in. Addium has to be, by far, the most heavily marketed / promoted supplements I have ever seen, and has resulted in hundreds of people commenting on it and reviewing it on my site.

addium reviewThroughout that marketing, you’ll see lots of intriguing evidence that this just “might” be the real limitless pill. There’s references on Twitter to the movie “Limitless”, starring Bradley Cooper, and how Addium was quite literally the inspiration behind the movie.

Another thing you’ll see if a Forbes magazine article called Addium “Viagra for the brain”, and said it was given an honorary mention as the pill that can turn you into the quickest thinker on the planet.

Finally, you’ll see dozens (if not HUNDREDS by now) reviews on Amazon talking up the supplement, saying things like “I found my thinking to be clearer” and “I can express myself better”, among other claims.

However, as you’ll see in my official review, this is simply deliberate and FALSE marketing designed to make you think this is some “miracle” brain enhancer. Read more in my official review of Addium here.

MZT 48

MZT-48 ReviewOne of my visitors actually pointed this one out.

Remember the movie Limitless I was talking about earlier? Well, in that movie the name of the drug Bradley Cooper uses a pill called NZT-48, which is clearly what the makers intended to align when they were designing the product.

The first thing I noted about MZT 48 was the label was nearly IDENTICAL to that of Addium and Adderin.

Like many of the others you’ll read about on this page, MZT 48 uses the same clever (yet deceptive) marketing to promote their product.

There’s mentions of plenty of celebs that are apparently taking it, and they even say that genius Stephen Hawking used it to “triple his memory”

In fact, they even claim that CNN’s Anderson Cooper used it for a period of 2 weeks with extraordinary results.

Click Here to read more in my MZT 48 review.

Alpha ZXT

The first time I heard about this product, I actually thought it was a car. “Test Drive the all new Acura Alpha ZXT at your local dealer today” sprung to mind.

alpha zxt reviewWell, it turns out that it wasn’t a car, but rather a secret pill that celebrities were secretly using to help give them an edge. Those celebrities?? None other than Bill Gates, James Cameron, Tiger Woods, Will Smith, and even renowned theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking are using it.

They even quoted Mr. Hawking as calling it the “The Biggest Event In Human History”.

Then, as I did my research, all of the chips started to fall. I researched the article where Stephen Hawking was cited, and he wasn’t talking about Alpha ZXT…he was talking about AI or Artificial Intelligence as being the next biggest event in human history.

And that Time Magazine Cover featuring Tiger Woods, exclaiming “Tiger’s Tale: Credits Brain Boosting ‘Clear Pill’ As Biggest Trick for Success”?? Totally Fake…Here’s a picture of the real cover.

You can see more in my review of Alpha ZXT here.

Synagen IQ

synagen iq reviewYet another nootropic based supplement that uses deceptive marketing is a product called Synagen IQ. I first learned about this supplement when I stumbled upon an article that appeared to be on the CNN official site.

It showed screenshots of an interview of physicist Stephen Hawking being interviewed by Wolf Blitzer, with the headline screaming “We can now access 100% of the brain”.

Throughout this “interview”, they mention a number of other celebrities who are apparently taking this miracle brain booster, including Denzel Washington and Ashton Kutcher.

However, just like with Alpha ZXT above, I quickly realized this was COMPLETELY FAKE.

There was no interview with Stephen Hawking, and I even watched through the entire Denzel Washington speech he gave and he makes no mention of Synagen IQ.

I even got a chance to personally test out Synagen IQ, you can read all about my results in my official review here.

Neuro 3X

neuro3x reviewAnother one that uses the likes of celebrity’s to promote their product is none other then Neuro3X, which Will Smith reveals it as the one key to a limitless mind. This time instead of using a fake CNN or MSNBC article, it’s a fake version of the Discover Magazine website, and they claim that Smith said that Neuro 3X literally “doubled his IQ in minutes”.

Just like Addium and Alpha ZXT, they also use the fake “Limitless” movie tweet that insinuates that Neuro 3X was the inspiration for the movie, as well as the Fake Forbes article.

They even sunk as low as stating that motivational speaker Tony Robbins is using it, citing that it’s his ‘ultimate secret’ to unlocking his mind and achieving laser-like focus.

You can read all about this one in my official review here.

Intellux

intellux reviewIntellux uses a slightly more deceptive approach to marketing their product. This time around, they are saying that Jim Carrey revealed on “The Jimmy Kimmel Show” that he’s been taking Intellux to quick increase his wealth, IQ, and bank account.

The stage for the Fake Article (or FARTICLE) is a Discovery News Mag website, which looks like the real thing. It’s rife with claims about other celebs using it, including Tom Cruise, Daniel Craig, and even tennis legend Roger Federer.

They also point out that when Intellux is used in conjunction with another supplement called Geniux, the results are enhanced 10 fold. You can even find reviews of Geniux on Youtube talking about how great the supplement works and claiming that they’re not paid sponsers.

Like Alpha ZXT and Addium, however, it’s all a load of B.S. Read more in my official Intellux review here.

Brainstorm Elite

brainstorm elite reviews“Nothing expands your mind and gets you in the zone like Brainstorm Elite”. That was a direct quote from none other than Leonardo Dicaprio, award winning actor and producer, and humper of some of the hottest chicks in the world.

In this Discovery Mag article, he supposedly talks about how Brainstorm Elite has given him unbeatable work ethic and creativity, as well as giving him more energy and mental clarity.

Just like the others, there are plenty of other celebrities being referenced as using it as well, and the editor of this so called magazine editorial did his own short experiment with the pills to see if they really worked.

But just like all the others, we did the research and proved that it was all smoke and mirrors. Read more in my review here.

Adderin

adderin reviewThis one just popped up on my radar a couple of weeks ago when a visitor to my site pointed it out. Then, a couple of ads started popping up in my facebook news feed calling Adderin “11X stronger than Adderall and 100% safe…”

The link took me to a mock “NBC” website, saying that this supplement was featured on the TV show “The Doctors” and doctors were calling it “viagra for the brain”. As usual, the BS was complete with mentions of the movie Limitless, and all the usual celebrity suspects.

They even go on to say that the FDA had originally banned the use of Adderin, but that 3 years of litigation and clinical studies proved it was safe and brought it back to the market.

Check out my review on this one here.

CogniFlex

cogniflex reviewI found out about this one, again, via my Facebook news feed. Cogniflex claims people are “rushing” to buy it before it’s out of stock, yet unsurprisingly, can only be bought on it’s official website.

They use all of the same deceptive marketing as the others…

  • It’s the “real” limitless pill.
  • Was recently approved by the FDA (even though herbal supplements don’t need FDA approval)
  • Celebrities and professional athletes are using it.
  • It was featured in Forbes.

And as usual, each claim was debunked.

What’s worse is that Cogniflex invites people to try out their supplement via a free trial. This sounds great and all, until your credit card gets charged $140 10 days after ordering.

Read more in my official Cogniflex review here.

So the one thing you’re probably asking yourself is…

How Do They Get Away With This?!?!

Are the editors over at CNN, Discover Magazine, and Yahoo all on crack?I mean, don’t these celebrities want to protect their image and likeness from being associated with these so called brain pills?

Well, there’s a lot of sneaky tricks these companies use to keep scamming people out of their hard earned money, and stay off the Feds radar.

1.) They Use Affiliates To Market These Products

Many of these fake ads / Farticles that you come across are not ACTUALLY being paid for by the companies that make the supplements. Rather, they are typically run by professional affiliates who use cloak and dagger techniques to game the system.

One of those techniques involves setting up a “legitimate” advertising campaign, which when it runs through the Yahoo advertising approval board, looks credible. Once the ad has been approved, the marketers simply use what is called a “redirect” to send people to a completely different page (the FAKE one), one that has NOT been approved by Yahoo.

These affiliates are paid a certain percentage of the total cost of the product when you purchase it through one of their links, and many of them will do WHATEVER it takes to get you to buy the supplement in question.

This generally results in them posting these fake articles, using big names like CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and Discover Magazine to make it appear as though you’re reading a REAL article on one of those sites.

2.) They Use Fake Websites To Clutter The Search Engines With “False Positive” Reviews

Another thing I’ve noticed recently is many of the companies have been paying other sites to post “reviews” of their products, which are really nothing more then big sales pages.

They make up a bunch of content that in most cases doesn’t even make sense to help them rank better in the search engines. They also will link to these pages from a wide array of other websites, all with the intention of boosting up their ranking and giving YOU false information.

Meanwhile, sites like SupplementCritique.com that have ACTUALLY USED and tested these products are buried in the results. They do this because they don’t want you to see the truth about their supplement, and will do everything in their power to try and keep you from learning it.

3.) They Rebrand New Products Over and Over

Once these techniques start to fail and the real truth starts to show up, typically what you will see if a “rebranding” of a new product, which is essentially the same as the old one. What do I mean by this?

Well, take Addium for example…the truth is beginning to rear its ugly head, and you’ll see dozens of very negative reviews on Amazon, Ebay, and other sites. Word is starting to get around…So, instead of trying to beat a dead horse, the makers of Addium are re branding their product and calling it Adderin.

If you search for Adderin on Google, there isn’t any bad publicity yet. That’s because the product has just been recently introduced to the market. But, if you give it a few months, I can almost guarantee that youll start to see the truth come pouring out.

How Can I Protect Myself From These Scams??

Well, the first thing you should do is bookmark my site. I spend THOUSANDS of $$ testing a wide array of products every year, and chances are if you are reading about it, I likely have a review of it somewhere on my site.

The second thing is just use common sense. Remember the adage ‘if it’s too good to be true, it probably is?”

Lastly, if you’re unsure whether the product you’re looking at is the real deal, send me an email. I’ll take a look at the marketing, the claims, and do the research and let you know if it’s a legit supplement, or complete bunk.

Brain Peak Review – Should You Use It?

Brain Peak Overview

Nootropics, otherwise known as brain boosters and ADHD alternative supplements, are all the rage in the supplement world.

There’s a whole huge community of people experimenting with combining all sorts of ingredients to make their own stacks, and there are new fully formed supplement options popping up every day.

The benefits to making your own are that you know exactly what’s in it and you might possible find the perfect combination.

The main benefit of a complete supplement are that you get the benefit of someone else’s research, without having to do it all on your own.

Of course we recommend that you become familiar with the ingredients, since it’s always a good idea to know what you’re putting in your body.

I think it was the movie “Limitless” where Bradley Cooper took that pill and could all of a sudden write a book and make millions of dollars in the stock market overnight that brought the idea of brain boosting supplement to the mainstream.

Since then, more and more formulations pop up practically every day. Brain Peak is one we recently became aware of.

The benefits it claims are:

  • Achieving never before dreamed of performance.
  • Revitalizing your entire mind (I think that’s a reference to the quote from the movie where they say we only use a very small portion of our brains.
  • Smashing targets with ease.
  • Thinking faster and more clearly.
  • Accessing your power.

With these claims, Brain Peak is definitely indicating that it can make you achieve like the character in the movie.

Of course, most supplements make big claims.

It’s our job to break it down and figure out what’s fact and what’s fantasy.

Brain Peak ReviewBrain Peak Ingredients and How They Work

The primary mechanism of action used by Brain Peak is boosting acetylcholine, a crucial neurotransmitter in your brain.

The formula uses 9 natural ingredients to achieve that boost and further enhance your brains optimal functioning, but their website only discusses the 2 main components:

Huperzia Serrata (aka Huperzine A) which is being studied as a potential cure for Altzheimer’s Disease because of its ability to improve age-related memory impairment.

It works by increasing Acetylcholine levels.

It comes from the Chinese plant, Club Moss

Vinpocetine which is derived from the periwinkle plant improves blood flow to the brain.

Some preliminary studies have shown that it may improve memory in healthy adults.

Brain Peak Pros and Cons

Advantages of Brain Peak

  • The ingredients are all natural.
  • The focus is on acetylcholine, which if it works, could potentially boost your brain power.

Disadvantages of Brain Peak

  • We found no Brain Peak reviews from customers, other than testimonials on the website, which we always take with a grain of salt.
  • Full ingredient information is not available.
  • You can only purchase Brain Peakby signing up for a free trial offer, which turns out to be anything but free.

    It’s actually very expensive.

Where to Buy

At this time, Brain Peak is only available through their online free trial offer.

You pay only $4.97 for shipping and handling, and they send you a full 30 day supply. They also automatically sign you up for their monthly autoshipping program.

Unless you call within 10 days of ordering your trial, they’ll charge your credit card $139.97 for the “free” trial bottle. On top of that, they’ll send you a new bottle at that same price every month until you cancel.

Lots of supplements use this scheme to sell product.

And I can’t tell you the number of guys who write to me that they got scammed.

Most people who order have no idea what they’re signing up for.

And that’s because that’s how the company wants it.

They post it in teeny tiny font as vaguely as possible, so they can catch more unsuspecting customers.

The free trial offer would be one thing if there were another option.

That way, things are much more above board.

With more options, people tend to investigate each option more thoroughly because in the end they want to choose the best for them.

With only one option, Brain Peak customer tend to simply click through.

Conclusion

I haven’t tried Brain Peak myself. It may be a decent nootropic supplement.

But when a company deliberate sets out to trap customers into repeat business, it’s got to put up a red flag.

Their cause is also not helped by the fact that they are calling themselves the “real NZT drug” from the film Limitless. There are better options.

I recommend you go with something else.

Adderin Review – Limitless Pill or Scam?

For anyone who has every taken Adderall, you know it’s a powerful drug that works great for focus and concentration.

In an attempt to mimic the effects of prescription drugs like Adderall, there’s been a surge of all natural supplements coming to the market.

Many of them claim that they work just as effectively as ADHD medications, but one recent one I came across says it’s actually 11X more potent then Adderall.

On top of this, they also claim that it produces NO side effects, and is completely legal, and you can now buy it relatively cheap online.

Of course, it should be noted that there are no medications or supplements that are entirely without side effects as that is just not possible, but hey, maybe Adderin is the first supplement to achieve such a feat.

The name of this supposed miracle supplement is none other then Adderin, which sounds remarkably similar to a product we’ve tested called Addium.

So is it really all it’s cracked up to be? Likely not, and you’ll find out why in this review.

What is Adderin

(watch my vid or scroll below it for more info)
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_rt0KzDYS8]

Adderin is apparently an all natural supplement designed to promote mental alertness, reduce stress, increase focus and productivity, and significantly reduce physical and mental fatigue.

Instead of just accessing 10% of your brain, Adderin is literally supposed to allow you to access the other 90%, making you nearly superhuman.

If that is true as they claim, that would make Adderin the very first supplement of its kind to ever produce such effects.

So what’s in it that makes Adderin so effective?

As is usual with many of these supplements, the list of ingredients is not given on the sales page I am looking at.

However, I did get a chance to look at the official Adderin site and they list the ingredients as Alpha GPC, Tyrosine, Bacopa Monnier, GABA, Vinpocetine, and Huperzine A.

adderin ingredients

Unsurprisingly, all of these same ingredients are found in a totally different product with a very similar name called Addium.

addium ingredients

We’ll talk more about this below, but now that we know what the ingredients are, can they really make a difference?

Well, yes and no…

For example, Alpha GPC is a natural choline chemical found in the brain that has shown evidence of helping men and women suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

However, there is no evidence suggesting it may help increase cognitive ability in healthy, normal folks.

Gamma-Aminobutyric-Acid (GABA) has been anecdotally shown to help relieve anxiety, improve mood, and is actually a chemical that is produced in the brain. However, as far as helping to treat symptoms associated with ADHD, there is insufficient evidence showing it can really make a difference.

False and Deceptive Marketing

The first time I learned about Adderin I was flipping through my Facebook page while waiting to get a root canal done at my dentists office.

The suggested news post featured a photo of an attractive news anchor from MSNBC, and the headline screamed:

FDA Approved: Breakthrough new “Limitless Pill” that men 26 – 50 are using to get ahead of the competition finally hits the US market.” and then a subheading that read: “11X stronger than Adderall and 100% safe”…

See a screenshot below:

adderin scam

Knowing it was likely bulls%$t, I immediately thought to dismiss it.

But, in the interest of helping out the readers on my blog, I decided to check it out anyway.

Well, when I clicked on the ad it took me to a page that looked like the NBC news website, complete with “breaking news” sections and links to other pages.

According to the article, a Dr. Raqif spilled the beans on Adderin on the TV show “The Doctors”, calling it ‘viagra for the brain’ and a revolutionary breakthrough in science.

Never mind the fact that Dr. Raqif has NEVER appeared on the Dr. Oz Show, much less stated the above.

However, the thing that struck me immediately was their reference to the movie “Limitless”, starring Bradley Cooper.

If you haven’t seen it yet, basically Bradley Cooper is given a pill that gives him “Limitless” capabilities with his brain.

Instead of just using 10% of his brain, he is able to access 100% of it, and as a result he becomes super smart and rich in the process. Within the news article, they say that the inspiration behind the movie was actually due in part to the creators of Addium.

Here’s a snapshot of the tweet they referenced:

adderin limitless movie small

The problem with this is…it’s complete and utter bullshit. How do I know this? Well, I just so happened to visit the REAL twitter page for the Limitless movie and here’s what it REALLY says.

limitless adderin tweet

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this…the makers of Addium did the same thing, as well as a couple of others.

They go on to say that the FDA banned the use of Adderin, but after 3 years of litigation and clinical studies proving it is safe, the FDA decided to lift the ban. This…is also bullshit.

First off, it’s an herbal supplement, which doesn’t require any approval / disapproval by the FDA.

I can make a pill, call it something like Adderiumum, inject the pills with a couple of vitamins, slap a fancy label on it, and sell it.

All without any approval from the FDA.

The third piece of bullshit from all of this was the ad where you saw all of this. What actually looks like the MSBNC website is indeed, not the REAL NBC website.

It’s a fake article, or Farticle for short. It’s designed to give you the impression that you’re on the real website, when indeed it’s a complete fake.

How do I know this? Well, I just so happen to have the website featuring Adderin open, let’s take a quick look and see what we can find out.

1.) Look at the address in the url bar, it says balletjewelworld dot com. If you were on the real MSNBC website, don’t you think it would say something like msnbc.com or nbc.com?

2.) When I try to click on anything else on the page, it doesn’t do anything. I doubt this is a problem with my computer, so what’s the issue? Well, my guess is they don’t want you leaving the page, so essentially force you to stay on it.

Here’s a quick video screen cast I made up below:

[vimeo 137195390 w=500 h=375]

Other Products That Use The Same FALSE Marketing…

There’s literally dozens of other supplements out there that use this “fake” marketing strategy, including Addium (which I mentioned above), Alpha ZXT, Brainfire, Intellux and Geniux, and many more.

I am in the process of writing a big post about it which will include all of the supplements that employ this type of false marketing, so check back again soon.

Adderin Vs. Addium

So I touched on this earlier in the review, but I wanted to expand on it here to clue you into to potentially another scam going on. To me, it appears that the makers of Addium have marketed and developed Adderin as a replacement to their original formula.

I suspect this for a few reasons…

Reason #1: The labels for each are practically identical. As you’ll see in the photo below, apart from a few small changes to the text, they essentially look the same.

adderin vs addium

Instead of Addiums tagline “For Increased Brain Power”, you have Adderins tagline “For a More Powerful Brain”.

Instead of the Title “Cerebral Enhancement Complex” found at the top of Addium, it says “Brain Enhancement Complex” at the top of Adderin.

Reason #2: The ingredients for each are essentially the same. As you’ll see in the photo below, they appear to both have nearly the same identical formula, with only 2 small changes.

addium vs adderin ingredients labels

It looks like they reduced the amount of Niacin by about 10 mg, and reduced their proprietary blend by 45 mg, although we don’t know exactly which one(s) were reduced.

Now this could simply be just a blatant copycat, someone who is deliberately piggybacking off the Addium brand. I did a little bit of research on the companies behind these supplements, and found that the makers of Adderin share the same address with a completely different supplement called Ketone Thin.

After a quick glance of the property on Google earth, it looks like it’s simply a distribution center that distributes a wide variety of supplements. However, this same address is not shared by the same one as Addium.

My Results With Adderin

adderin reviewI finally got a bottle of Adderin and the first thing I noticed was my suspicions were confirmed…

The ingredients on the label were nearly IDENTICAL to those of Addium, with the only change being a 10 mg reduction in the Niacin content (I mentioned this above if you haven’t seen it already). So, unsurprisingly, my results with Adderin were essentially IDENTICAL to those of my experiment with Addium.

I took one capsule first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, and to be honest, I felt no effects whatsoever. At first I thought I felt a bit of an increase in motivation / focus, but I attribute it to a placebo effect.

I didn’t have any mind blowing sense of clarity or creativity, nor did it help to calm me down or reduce anxiety.

The only thing I noticed was a bit of facial flushing and a sense of feeling “hot”. The likely reason behind this is the fact that it contains Niacin, as this is a very common side effect from using the extract.

I tried it out for a few more days, hoping to eventually see some sort of positive effects from Adderin, but was left disappointed.

I called them up to cancel my free trial, and after them trying to get me to keep it for a reduced price, was able to fully cancel. This was in August of 2015.

Plot Twist! (5/2/2017)

So I go to pick up my mail about 2 months ago and I look in the box and there’s this envelope with some supplements in it. I get supplements sent to me all the time, and in some cases I won’t open the package until like a week or two later.

I finally opened it up, and wouldn’t you know it?

It was a bottle of Adderin.

Strange.

I did a quick search through my bank account and didn’t see any charges, so I just dismissed it and figured it was just as mistake on their end.

Fast forward one month later, and all of a sudden another bottle shows up in my mailbox.

Ok, now I’m going to get to the bottomof this.

I logged into my bank account and started searching through my transactions when I came across this:

adderin re bill

That’s right, they magically restarted my auto rebill.

What’s even weirder is I KNOW for for a fact that I cancelled my trial about 14 months ago.

So why all of a sudden are they sending more Adderin bottles to me and charging me?

I called their customer service number at 727-498-4811 and spoke with “Mario”.

He said the reason i was being charged was that I was on a rebill arrangement with them!

I told him more than once that I cancelled it well over a year ago, but that’s not what his records apparently say.

In either case, he agreed to cancel my auto shipments and said I wouldn’t be getting any further bottles sent to me.

I even got an email confirming this:

adderin cancellation

Since I don’t plan on taking any more of this stuff, I’ve decided I’m going to give away 2 bottles to 2 different visitors to this page.

Update (10/1/2015)Frequently Asked Questions

Is it approved by the FDA

There’s a lot of rumors circulating that Adderin was recently approved by the FDA, but that is completely and utterly FALSE. The fact is, no supplement has to be approved by the FDA.

They only regulate the approval of pharmaceutical drugs, NOT supplements.

How do I take it

The directions on the label state that you should take 1 capsule daily.

How long does it take to work

They say the effects should be felt after just one dose, but as I noted in my personal review, I didn’t feel anything. Others have noted that they have felt the effects kick in after about 30 – 45 minutes.

Is this the real “limitless pill”

Based on my particular results, I can say with a resounding NO that this supplement does not work like some limitless pill. As a matter of fact, most of the supplements I’ve tested that have called themselves a “limitless pill” turned out to be complete duds.

Was it really seen on CNN, MSNBC, The Doctors, and Forbes magazine

No. They just try to make you think it was by making fake pages that mimic the layout and look of those websites. You can see for yourself by simply typing the name of the supplement in to google and then whatever media publication you like (i.e. adderin cnn).

Does it work like Adderall

Not even close. Because Adderall is basically legal speed, there is practically no herbal extract that can completely mimic its effects. The upside is that drugs like Adderall tend to produce a wide range of negative side effects, while the makers of Adderin say their supplement is completely side effect free.

But is this statement really true?

Are there any side effects

Yes. The most common side effect that seems to be reported is hot flashes, rashes, and a feeling of burning / itching skin. This is no doubt attributed to the niacin content, which is about 20 mg per serving.

Additionally, one of its other primary ingredients called Huperzine A has been known to cause blurred vision, slurred speech, restlessness, twitching, and high blood pressure.

The simple fact is that it’s possible to get side effects from almost ANYTHINGyou’re ingesting, including Adderin.

Where can I buy it

If you’re that hell bent on giving it a shot, you can pick up a bottle on their official website www.buyadderin.com. One bottle retails for $49.85 each, plus shipping.

You can buy larger quantities and get discounts, with a buy 3 bottles get 2 free deal that lowers the per bottle cost to $29.99 a piece.

As far as I can tell, it’s not available in stores like GNC, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, and others. Amazon used to carry it, but it is no longer available for sale.

It’s also not available for sale in the UK, Canada, and Australia.

Pro’s

  • We know the formula is all natural, so they have that going for them.
  • You can buy it conveniently online.
  • It probably won’t kill you if you take it.

Con’s

  • Personally speaking, I saw practically no resultsfrom it.
  • Most of the reviews I’ve read are terrible.
  • Many users have reported dreadful side effects.
  • They use false and deceptive marketing to sell their product.
  • It’s suspiciously similar in ingredients profile and pricing to a supplement called Addium.
  • Not available in stores.

Recommendation

All in all, I would say that the people responsible for this new supplement called Adderin are directly related to another supplement called Addium.

What happens is, when thousands of people start ordering a supplement like this one, try it, and find out that it doesn’t work at all, it starts to get a bunch of negative publicity online.

So, in an effort to keep scamming people out of their hard earned money, they simply slap a new label on the product, keep the same ingredients, change up the marketing a little bit, and rinse and repeat the process.

I gave it a fair shot, and from my own personal point of view, I would say take a pass on this one.

Garcinia Life Plus Review – Does It Work?

Garcinia Life Plus Overview

Ever since Dr. Oz talked about it on his show, Garcinia Cambogia has been the hottest weight loss ingredient out there.

Even the criticism Dr. Oz has since taken for being a shill for certain products hasn’t dampened the enthusiasm.

Clinical evidence is pretty sparse and inconclusive, but anecdotally, people are loving this stuff.

We came across a garcinia supplement recently called Garcinia Life Plus, and checked it out to see if it lives up to the hype.

Garcinia Life Plus is available online, which is where you’ll find most of the information you need to decide if it’s something you want to take.

It promises to:

  • Burn fat constantly, even while you’re at rest or sleeping.
  • Boost energy.
  • Suppress your appetite.
  • Prevent carbohydrates from being converted to fat, instead making sure they’re used for energy.

So how exactly does Garcinia Life Plus work?

Garcinia Life Plus Ingredients and How They Work

The primary active ingredient in Garcinia Life Plus is the HCA, or Hydroxycitric Acid, Extract found in the Garcinia Cambogia fruit.

This is the “miracle” substance that everyone is talking about.

It’s list of benefits includes:

  • Preventing food calories from being stored as fat in existing fat cells.
  • Preventing the formation of new fat cells.
  • Decreasing your appetite.
  • Reducing belly fat.
  • Boosting your metabolism
  • Elevating your mood.

The HCA in Garcinia Life Plus is in the recommended 60% concentration and at the recommended dose of 1000mg.

Garcinia Life Plus Pros and Cons

Advantages of Garcinia Life Plus

  • The ingredients are all natural.
  • The HCA in Garcinia Life Plus shows promise as potentially beneficial to weight loss.

Disadvantages of Garcinia Life Plus

  • It’s only available through a free trial offer.
  • Full ingredient information is not disclosed.

Where to Buy

At this time, Garcinia Life Plusis only available on the internet and only by engaging in their “free trial” offer.

What that means is that on their website, you sign up to pay only a small shipping fee, and they send you a full one-month supply bottle.

In the fine print, it states that by signing up for the trial, you are also signing up for their monthly automatic shipping program.

If you don’t call and cancel your “trial” within 14 days of your original order date, you’ll be billed $79.95 for the original bottle, and you’ll be signed up to receive a new one at that same price every month going forward until you cancel.

While it is actually stated on the order page, it’s written in very small print, and that’s no accident.Lots of online supplement companies do this.

But if you ask me, any company selling a quality product wouldn’t need to engage in this kind of practice to make repeat sales.

Conclusion

Garcinia Cambogia may be the next great thing in weight loss. Time and science will tell.

But in the meantime, don’t bother with free trial scammy supplements like Garcinia Life Plus.

Phentaslim Review – Should You Try It?

Phentaslim Overview

The advertising for supplements can be pretty over the top, that’s for sure.

But I have to say, the weight loss supplements take the cake.

At least the bodybuilding ones admit you have to work your ass off to achieve results.

A lot of these fat burners actually try to tell you you can sit around, eat whatever you want, and still lose weight.

I can’t imagine people believing it, but I guess when you’ve tried everything and you’re frustrated, you’ll try anything.

And these supplement companies know that.

Phentaslim is a weight loss supplement being pretty heavily promoted online. While they don’t recommend sitting on your ass as a weight loss plan, they do play up the power this supplement has to help you in your weight loss efforts.

Phentaslim:

  • Reduces your excess body fat.
  • Decreases hunger and cravings.
  • Gives you more energy and motivation
  • Boosts your metabolism.
  • Supports focus and drive to succeed.

Phentaslim ReviewPhentaslim Ingredients and How They Work

The Phentaslimformula consists of 15 natural ingredients including:

  • Green Tea Catechins which increase fat burning without increasing your heart rate.
  • Caffeine for energy, appetite suppression, and focus.
  • L-Theanine which works well with caffeine to reduce stress and anxiety.
  • L-Carnitine to boost your metabolism and improve the process of converting fat to energy.
  • L-Tyrosine which increases fat burning at rest.
  • And several essential vitamins and minerals to support both weight loss and overall health and wellness.

The recommended dose is 2 Phentaslim capsules per day, one about 20 minutes before breakfast, the other about 20 minutes before lunch.

Phentaslim Pros and Cons

Advantages of Phentaslim

  • The ingredients are all natural, and some are widely believed to he helpful for losing weight.
  • All the ingredients are listed, which is a big plus since as you know a lot of supplements don’t want you to know what’s actually in them.
  • Plenty of great Phentaslim reviews from customers who’ve lost a good amount of weight.

A lot of them specifically mention the appetite suppression and energy.

Disadvantages of Phentaslim

  • There are no clinical studies proving it’s effective.

Where to Buy

Phentaslim is only available through their official website, though they have a US website and a UK website.

A single bottle is a one month supply and costs $59.95 with no autoshipping deals (thank goodness!).You can save on the per bottle cost by buying several at a time.

For instance, if you buy 3 bottles for $129.95, you’ll get one free bottle. There’s a 30 day money back guarantee.

It applies to one opened bottle and all the unopened bottles you return.

Conclusion

Weight loss takes time and effort more than anything else.

But supplements can be a great way to help with progress and motivation.

Given the ingredients, the reviews, and the money back guarantee, Phentaslim is a good choice.

Nootropics – Smart Pills Glossary

Nootropics are a relatively new category of supplements that are essentially referred to as “smart drugs”. They are compounds or a mix of compounds that aid in increasing cognitive abilities, focus and motivation, as well as short and long term memory function.

We here at SupplementCritique.com have been testing dozens of these supposed ‘brain pills’ and continually strive to give you the most up to date and factual information concerning these supplements.

The below compounds are commonly found in a wide variety of Nootropic supplements, and the purpose of this glossary is to help you get a better understanding of how they are supposed to work.

Sorted A – Z

1,3 Dimethylamylamine (DMAA)

DMAA is a substance that used to be found in literally dozens of supplements, ranging from cognitive enhancers to pre-workout supplements. Originally developed and marketed as a nasal decongestant, DMAA worked by constricting blood vessels and operated as a very effective stimulant.

I personally have used dozens of supplements containing DMAA, and it was my “drug of choice” for a long time when I needed a kick to get my workouts going or sit down and study. However, the FDA banned it’s use in supplements in 2013, effectively removing it from the market.

Alpha GPC

A natural choline compound found in the brain, Alpha GPC actually delivers choline to the brain via the blood brain barrier. Some studies suggest that, via the use of Alpha GPC compounds, persons suffering from cognitive disorders including stroke and Alzheimers disease saw a recovery in their symptoms with 28 days of usage.

Alpha GPC can be found in numerous cognitive enhancement products, including Alpha Brain, Mental Bright, and Addium.

Bacopa (Bacopin)

Bacopa monierri, also known as Brahmi, is a plant native to India that has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine for a whole host of problems, but especially those of anxiety and intellect.

In rat studies, Brahmi improved memory retention and reduced amnesia caused by electroconvulsive shock, scopolamine intoxication, and/or immobilization. Scary stuff….

Bacopa’s effect on humans was put to the test in a double-blind, randomized study with a placebo control group.

All of the volunteers were healthy and between the ages 40 and 65.

The Facts

  • Each group was given a capsule (whether Bacopa or placebo) of either 300 mg if the individual weighed less than 90 kg or 450 mg if he or she weighed more than 90 kg.
  • Seventy-six subjects completed the trial – four from each group left, only one of whom left due to gastrointestinal difficulties with Bacopa.
  • Three tests (lasting approximately an hour) were given to each patient, including:
  • baseline (first) test (before medication is administered)
  • six to eight weeks into the trial to check-in (no test)
  • second test approximately three months later, then patient ceases taking capsules
  • post-trial (third) test approximately six weeks later

A testing session consists of completing various tasks that measure a multitude of memory-related abilities, as well as psychological state.

Bitter Orange Extract (Synephrine)

Bitter Orange is a plant native to practically every continent in the world, and is actually a banned substance by the NCAA and other sports regulatory organizations.

It works similarly to DMAA, and has been used in the past both as a nasal decongestant, and to help people suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome. Not surpsignly, it has also found it’s way into a wide array of weight loss / fat burning supplements, including Cellucor C4 Extreme, Alpha Rush Pro, and Shred JYM.

In these products it’s typically marketed as an “ephedrine free” formula, namely because it supposedly works similarly to the now banned substance Ephedrine.

Caffeine

The worlds most consumed drug, Caffeine has long been known as the most commonly used nootropic substance. It’s used in practically every nootropic supplement we’ve tested to varying degrees, and is commonly stacked with numerous other nootropics like L-Theanine and GABA.

The most interesting thing to note about Caffeine is that it is widely marketed under different names and in different forms. If you see the ingredients yerba mate, methylxathine, Trimethylxanthine, or 1,3,7-trimethylxanthine, don’t be fooled.

They’re are just fancy names for caffeine.

Choline

Choline and its derivatives are not vitamins per se, but in 1998 the Institute of Medicine (IOM) recognized them as essential nutrients.

The reasoning underlying this decision was that choline is necessary in a variety of ways for the maintenance of human health.

According to Oregon State University’s Linus Pauling Institute, choline is: used in the synthesis of structural components needed to maintain cell membrane integrity, a precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (which is involved in muscle control and memory), and able to keep both fat and cholesterol from collecting in the liver.

Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE)

DMAE has been widely used to help people suffering from a wide range of disorders, including ADHD, Alzheimers, and Autism. It’s actually used to build the chemical choline, and may increase the production of acetylcholine.

Some of the benefits of DMAE supplement ingestion include improved memory and mood, increased intelligence, imporoved athletic performance, and increase physical energy.

GABA (gamma-Aminobutyric Acid)

GABA is an amino acid that is the chief inhibitory neurotransmitter in humans. This is another substance that is present in practically every nootropic supplement we’ve tested, and it’s been shown to help cause feelings of relaxation and calm, and even may help to suppress motion sickness.

You can find GABA in practically EVERY nootropic supplement on the market, including Adderin and Geniux.

As a nootropic substance, GABA is interesting. Because it is unable to pass through the blood brain barrier in sufficient quantities, some say it’s completely ineffective.

However, there is a substance called Phenibut which essentially put’s a “phenyl ring” around GABA and allow it to cross the blood brain barrier. The effect is enormous, producing feelings of calm, intense focus, but not making you feel tired / dizzy.

Ginkgo Biloba

Used for thousands of years in Ancient Chinese medicine, Ginkgo Biloba has been used to treat numerous problems, including anxiety, dementia, vision problems, mental functioning (including memory and thinking speed), and even help women with PMS symptoms.

I have personally taken many supplements containing it throughout the years, and it works even more effectively when stacked with other compounds like Ginseng and L-Theanine.

Gingko Biloba is a bit controversial in nature, as some consumer groups have urged the FDA to call for it’s ban after a federal study found that the supplement has the potential to cause liver cancer in mice. As of 2015, Gingko Biloba is still readily available over the counter.

Ginseng

Ginseng has been claimed to help a wide array of issues, including helping men suffering from Erectile Dysfunction (ED), helping act as a stimulant in pre workout supplements, and even used as a treatment for type 2 diabetes.

There are basically 2 variations of Ginseng: Korean Ginseng and American Ginseng. The vast majority of supplements containing Ginseng use the Korean (or Asian) variety, most notably because it apparently has more beneficial effects than it’s American counterpart.

The use of Ginseng as a nootropic is somewhat controversial. Proponents of the extract say that it can help people with mood disorders, help to increase mental performance, and even help in people with learning disabilities.

Opponents cite the lack of concrete clinical studies available on these claims, attributing most of them as anecdotal in nature.

Huperzine A

Huperzia serrata, a plant which contains the alkaloid Huperzine A, is another medicament that, for whatever reason(s), all too often gets swept under the rug and is not given nearly enough of the attention it deserves.

WebMd has a great section on Huperzine A’s uses in the treatment of age-related memory problems and Alzheimer’s disease.

This supplement shows promise in improving memory, learning, and energy levels.

L-Theanine

L-Theanine is used for treating anxiety, preventing Alzheimer’s disease, and potentiating cancer drugs (making them more effective) according to its entry on WebMD.

As a nootropic substance, L-Theanine is commonly stacked with stimulants like Caffeine and bitter orange. Theyre taken in combination because the normally unpleasant side effects of caffeine such as anxiety and jitteriness are countered by the l-theanine.

You may experience alertness and lucidity without any unnecessary nervousness.

I have personally taken L-Theanine with caffeine and can attest to its effectiveness.

Niacin

Otherwise known as Vitamin B3, Niacin has been shown in numerous studies to help with lowering triglycerides, and even boost levels of good cholesterol. AS a nootropic, it’s been shown in limited studies to help lower the risk of Alzheimers disease, and even help with memory and cognition.

However, this doesn’t come without a price. There are a broak range of side effects associated with its use, including a flushing of the skin, skin redness, heart palpitations, and upset stomach, to name a few.

It’s suggested that you take Niacin on a full stomach to alleviate / prevent these symptoms.

Meta Boost Review – Should You Use It?

Meta Boost Overview

Natural testosterone boosters are pretty much becoming a must-have if you’re over 30 and want to get in the best shape of your life.

That’s because of the simple fact that once you hit 30, your T levels start declining to a noticeable degree, and if want to get them back up, you have two choices.

You can go with hormone replacement therapy which requires doctors, prescriptions, and side effects.

Or you can go with a natural testosterone booster which gives you comparable results, but without any of the negatives.

Meta Boost is a natural testosterone booster you can find online. It promises great gains in strength and athleticism as well as improvements in libido and sexual performance, though their primary focus seems to be on the athletic gains you can make.

It promises improved post workout recovery, greater muscle to fat ratios, and increased muscle density.

Since it’s true that these are the same claims made by pretty much every testosterone booster, we took a closer look at the ingredients to see if Meta Boost can deliver.

Meta Boost ReviewMeta Boost Ingredients and How They Work

Finding ingredient information about Meta Boost proved to be difficult.

In the end, we found it through a third party, so we are unable to conclusively verify the list.

With that said, here’s what we found:

  • Zinc, a very necessary part of the testosterone production process within the body.
  • Magnesium, also important to the chemical reaction in the body that produces testosterone.
  • Vitamin B6 for energy and hormone balance.
  • D-Aspartic Acid which is said to increase testosterone levels.

In fact, a clinical study backs that up.
  • Tribulus Terrestris which may increase testosterone levels stimulating the release of Luteinizing Hormone, which stimulates an increased testosterone production.

The daily recommendation is 2 capsules.

Meta Boost Pros and Cons

Advantages of Meta Boost

  • The ingredients are all focused on boosting testosterone.

A lot of these supplements add fillers and sexual enhancers in the place of actual testosterone boosting ingredients.

Disadvantages of Meta Boost

  • The ingredient amounts are unfortunately too small to have much effect.
  • It looks like it may have been taken off the market.

Where to Buy

Meta Boost was one of those free trial products we talk so much about.

It has even been featured in that dreaded article that promotes 2 supplements as the magic muscle builder all the stars are using.

But all of that seems to have disappeared, at least for now.

You can find plenty of “reviews” with the option to click through to the free trial, but the link is either broken or it takes you somewhere else, to the free trial of a different product.

Conclusion

In the end, Meta Boostwas just another of a hundred or more free trial products that I wouldn’t recommend.

So truthfully, I wasn’t not disappointed in the least when it turned out to be no longer available.

But take it as further proof that these free trial products really are scams.

Even the distributors themselves see them as interchangeable.
